Ethan Garner is about to break out! Learn about his backstory, songwriting, and momentum behind his irresistible debut, "Red Wine Stains."
Ethan Garner arrives in Nashville with the quiet confidence of someone who’s been absorbing the craft of songwriting and performance his whole life.
Raised in a tight-knit, music-loving family – two older brothers and a dad who filled the house with Elvis, The Beatles and Bob Marley, Garner grew up romanticizing the studio life and the camaraderie of the road. He played football, cut his teeth on acoustic nights across Georgia, then briefly lived in an Airbnb in Nashville to feel the scene before moving to Belmont and committing to music full-time. That background shapes him as both a personable storyteller and an artist with a clear vision.
His debut single, "Red Wine Stains," is the first public proof of that sensibility. It's a breakup song that balances relatable honesty with an impossibly catchy, pop-leaning melody. Co-written and produced by two-time Grammy winner Daniel Tashian alongside Cecilia Castleman, the track was crafted in a relaxed, image-driven writing room and matured into a full-bodied recording at historic RCA Studios.
Fans have already taken notice. A TikTok clip that helped launch Garner’s early momentum continues to fuel engagement, with listeners praising the single’s singalong chorus and the warm, immediate feel of his vocals. Social hype has translated into boxes being checked off quickly: a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music, Record deal with RECORDS Nashville, and booking deal with WME. They are now all in his corner, giving Garner infrastructure to turn online momentum into real-world touring and sustained release plans.
Early video snippets, like a studio-session visualizer, underscore the communal energy Garner wants for live shows – rowdy singalongs, tight band chemistry, and an atmosphere built around having a great time.
Beyond one great song, Garner is staking his claim as an artist who won’t be boxed in by one sound. He cites influences from Bob Marley to Bruce Springsteen to contemporary country storytellers, and his next single, "Messed Up Over You," already signals a different, more stripped-back side of his interests. For fans and industry watchers alike, the appeal is more than the music. It’s his approachable personality, the thoughtful aesthetic he’s shaping, and a team that’s curating his early career with intention. In a town where careers are sometimes measured in decades, Garner’s rapid rise–rooted in authenticity, strong songwriting, and a clear live ambition, marks him as one of the most promising new artists to watch.

Fandom Daily: Tell us a bit about your start. How did you get into music?
Ethan Garner: "I grew up in a close, musical family. Two older brothers and a dad who played Elvis, The Beatles, Bob Marley, lots of classics. I romanticized the artist lifestyle. For instance, studio time, touring, being on a bus with a band. I played football, but in college I started playing acoustic gigs around Georgia, saved money, stayed in an Airbnb in Nashville for five weeks at 20, felt the scene out, came back to school, then moved to Belmont and planted roots here."
Fandom Daily: Was there a moment someone encouraged you to pursue music?
Ethan Garner: "In high school some drama teacher asked me to audition for a play after hearing me sing at lunch. I passed on it then, but small moments like that stuck. Later in Nashville a friend told me to post on TikTok, one video took off, and that led to meeting my manager and publisher. It all moved fast."
Fandom Daily: How does it feel to land a publishing deal, representation with Champ Management/WME, and a team around you so quickly?
Ethan Garner: "It’s surreal and humbling. I honestly believe doors opened for me. I’m grateful. There are risks, but the people I’m working with truly believe in me, and that’s huge at this stage."
First row (L to R): Barry Weiss (RECORDS), Ethan Garner, Matt Musacchio (Champ Management/Red Light Management). Back row (L to R): Andrew Saltman (RECORDS), Josh Easler (RECORDS), Josh Brackin (Brackin Law), Joe Fisher (RECORDS)
Fandom Daily: Who has mentored or guided you during this early phase?
Ethan Garner: "My manager Matt keeps things calm and steady (plus he has a law background), and my publisher Carla has been invaluable. She's straightforward, intuitive, and great at nurturing development without forcing it."
Fandom Daily: Who influenced you growing up and how does that shape your live shows and artistry?
Ethan Garner: "Big influences include Elvis, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, and big country showmen like Kenny Chesney. I want my shows to be energetic and communal. People standing, singing, having a good time. I’m also a visual person. I love cohesive themes across titles, videos, and artwork...almost cinematic."
Fandom Daily: Tell us about your debut single, "Red Wine Stains." What inspired it?
Ethan Garner: "It’s a fun breakup song rooted in honesty and the push-and-pull of missing someone but keeping it light-hearted. The title came from a real image. A girl I was dating spilled red wine on my carpet, and that line stuck. I wrote it with Daniel Tashian and Cecilia Castleman. We built a world around that image.
Fandom Daily: How did the writing and recording process go?
Ethan Garner: We wrote at Daniel’s house in a relaxed setting – porch, drinks, conversation. Daniel has a way of drawing honest moments out without making it feel calculated. The record came to life at historic RCA Studios with an amazing group of players.
Fandom Daily: Why make "Red Wine Stains" your first single?
Ethan Garner: "I wanted something that felt classic and timeless but modern. Something my dad and my little brother could both enjoy. It leans country but has a pop-leaning melody. It felt like a good first taste of the sonic direction and storytelling I want to pursue.
Fandom Daily: Daniel Tashian co-wrote and produced. What did he bring to the track?
Ethan Garner: "Daniel brought melodic sensibility, calm confidence, and a setup that allows songs to feel authentic rather than mapped out. Working with him was grounding. He helped shape the track into something timeless."
Fandom Daily: Tell us about your next single, "Messed Up Over You" out May 1. How is it different?
Ethan Garner: "It’s a more stripped-down, honest moment and the one song I recorded that I didn’t write. The melody and chorus hit me emotionally, and my A&R agreed it was a perfect fit. It shows I won’t be pigeonholed. My influences span Americana, island-tinged vibes, rock, and more."
Fandom Daily: What do you hope fans take away from your music?
Ethan Garner: "Relatability. I want listeners to feel seen. Whether it’s a fun breakup moment or feeling a little messed up for a second. Music connects us because we share these experiences."

Fandom Daily: What’s next?
Ethan Garner: "We’ll release a couple more singles this year, chosen carefully, and then move into EP territory. We’re building things single by single for now."
Fandom Daily: Anything else you want fans to know?
Ethan Garner: "I love touring and being on the road. I want to create an atmosphere where people come to have an awesome time. I’m excited to keep making and sharing music and to bring these songs to live audiences soon."
