Mackenzie Porter's long-awaited debut album, Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart, serves as a heartfelt letter to the ladies. The breakout star, known for her country-pop anthems,  turned to women in country music to pen the album of the summer.

The 19-track project, a culmination of six years in the making, delves deep into the complexities of heartbreak, painting a vivid picture of the human experience through Porter's emotive lyrics.

In a recent interview with Fandom Daily, Porter shared what it was like to team up with some of the most prominent songwriters on Music Row to bring her vision to life.

"Some of my best friends are all over the project. Parker Welling, Lydia Vaughan, Emily Weisband, Lauren Hungate, like those are my girls," said Porter before rattling off other names. "I love to write with anybody, but I love writing with females. There's this stereotype that you can't put two females into a writing room together. It's like all males and one female. I just don't believe that. Only a female can fully understand some of the emotions I want into a project. I needed that – female voices to help me."

Each song encapsulates a different facet of heartbreak, exploring themes of disappointment, loneliness, and perseverance. Tracks like "Nightingale," "Confession," and "Pay Me Back In Change" resonate with listeners, offering a raw and honest reflection of life's inevitable trials.

Porter is a boundary-pushing artist who is fearlessly changing the country landscape. However, the humble artist credits her songwriters with helping her find the right words to tell her story.

"There's been so many times in the writer's room with my friends that they're like, 'What if we said this? And I'm like, I don't know if I can say that. Maybe country radio wouldn't play that.' But then, we've been like, 'You know what? This is the truth. This is what we want to say. So we're just gonna do that and ask for forgiveness later.'"

The entire LP displays who Porter is at her core. "Have Your Beer" embodies Porter when she was her sassy twenty-something self living a carefree life, while "Foreclosure" touches upon marriage troubles. Each captivating hook and soul-stirring bridge strikes a chord with listeners, leaving them to reflect on their own lives. The relatable collection has a track for everyone.

"If a person can find one or two songs on the record that makes them feel like I understood them or what they are going through, then I've done my job," she admitted. "I hope that some other females can put their own life into my songs, too."

The chart-topping artist known for her collaboration "Thinking 'Bout You" with Dustin Lynch reflected on the years spent crafting the record. While she's relieved to finally share her diary-like album with her fans, she's excited for them to enjoy touches of traditional country intertwined with her recognizable country-pop sound – an approach she has never done before.

"It feels good. I feel like I'm never gonna go that long again," Porter laughs, acknowledging the lengthy process. "But I think it was worth it. It put me in a place where I can say, 'This is what my music is, and this is what I sound like.' I definitely wanted there to be more moments of traditional country. I do feel like we did the pop-country radio thing, but I wanted to share more depth and maybe maturity a little bit – everything from lyrics to instruments. I'm so glad we have fiddle all over the record and banjo."

The album's release also marks a significant moment in Porter's life, as she navigates the newfound balance of motherhood alongside her music career. "It was just kind of like, let's just try to do it all at once and show that you can be a mom and be putting out music at the same time," she explains. With her daughter by her side, Porter is embracing this new chapter with grace and determination.

Looking ahead, Porter is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. From headlining tours to new creative ventures, she remains committed to sharing her music with the world. The buzzworthy artist announced (June 13) that she will be hitting the road to perform her new music.

She will stop in major cities to support hitmakers like Keith Urban, Parker McCollum, and Brett Young. She will also appear at the Barefoot Country Music Fest in New Jersey, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Country On The Bay, and even head to Toronto for the Canadian National Exhibition.

"I need to play these songs in front of people and see them sing the lyrics back to me," she exclusively told Fandom Daily. "I feel like Bowie [Porter's daughter] will be old enough to bring her out on the road. We have those little headphones, she's going to be my little side girl. I think it'll be such a learning experience, and she'll get to see different cities. She will also see me working really hard and doing what I  love."

As she makes massive waves, Porter's fandom continues to relish in her remarkable repertoire, which captures the heart and soul of country music. For fans eager to see her play live, tickets to her upcoming shows are now available on her official website
