Mason Ramsey's journey in the music industry is nothing short of remarkable. The young boy who first captured the internet's attention yodeling in a Walmart at just 11 years old has blossomed into a mature and serious artist, proving that his viral moment was only the beginning. Now, at 17, Ramsey has just released (Sept. 20) his highly anticipated debut album, I'll See You In My Dreams, a project that not only showcases his traditional songwriting skills but also serves as his redemption story.

For those unfamiliar, Ramsey's viral video in 2018 introduced the world to a boy with an old soul, passionately singing Hank Williams Sr.'s "Lovesick Blues." In the six and a half years since, Ramsey has worked tirelessly to shed the image of a "meme artist" and establish himself as a serious contender in the country music world.

"I'm a little bit older and more mature. I feel like I could be taken seriously, not as a meme. I feel like the country music industry is slowly starting to accept me," Ramsey exclusively told Fandom Daily. "It does take time, effort, and work. I'm willing to put in whatever I have to do to get where I want to be. I want people to see that I take my stuff seriously. I am trying every way I can for people to understand that," he added.

He's always been drawn to the legends – Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Elvis Presley – and the sound of his debut album reflects the timelessness of those influences. But what sets I'll See You In My Dreams apart is how he blends those old-world inspirations with a fresh, youthful energy that only Ramsey could bring.

The dynamic artist was directly involved in writing all 14 songs on the album, making it deeply personal. He penned the well-rounded collection alongside Dan Fernandez, a seasoned writer-producer with credits with Maren Morris, Lee Brice, BRELAND, Nate Smith, and several other notable names in Music City. If anyone could vouch for his growth, it would be Fernandez. The two are far from strangers, as they worked together a few years back. Before making waves with his debut album, he dropped three buzz-worthy EPs, which includes his 2018 chart-topping track "Famous."

I'll See You In My Dreams tells a story – his story. Whether it's about navigating fame at a young age, his small-town roots, or love, the lyrics offer a glimpse into his life.

Ramsey shared, "Every song reflects a chapter of my life during that time." One track in particular, "The Woman From Havana," stands out. He said that the trumpet-soaked ballad "practically wrote itself," a testament to the natural flow of his creativity when inspiration strikes. The song's mature, introspective lyrics about a love interest may surprise some listeners, but they showcase the depth of his artistry and reveal a side of him we've only begun to discover.

Although, one thing hasn't changed – his timeless sound and authenticity. Ramsey has maintained a solid and enthusiastic fan base. For Ramsey, the connection with his fans has always been central, and it's something he cherishes deeply as he embarks on the next phase of his career.

"I've accomplished a lot in the last six and a half years – going from Walmart to releasing my first album," he recalled, crediting his fans for championing him along the way. "I really didn't think that I was gonna take off or anything. It's been mindblowing for me. I'm super grateful for everything that's happened to me so far."

Staying connected with his devoted fandom comes naturally, as his unique approach to music and perspective on life has captivated followers. Pressing play on Ramsey's tracks feels like stepping into a time warp, instantly distinguishing him from the pop-country trends dominating today's charts. Unconcerned with conforming to modern molds, he offers the authenticity and originality that listeners crave in an artist.

Ramsey flawlessly blends Americana, classic country, soul, and even elements of '50s and '60s soft rock. He uses the term"American Country Soul" to describe his style.

"I definitely love different things like blues and soft rock from the fifties and sixties. I'm a very old-school guy. I was raised by a different generation, my grandparents," explained Ramsey. "Even though I was raised in this generation, it sure did not feel like it. Everything was done a different way for me back at home – I think I live in the past."

Even his sense of style reflects his old-world soul and timeless perspective on life. The singer-songwriter is known for his distinct fashion choices, often favoring classic, clean-cut looks that exude sharp sophistication. His wardrobe staples include tailored suits, narrow ties, and polished dress shoes, embodying a refined, elegant aesthetic. Occasionally, he nods to the iconic styles of the 1960s, incorporating bold prints, turtlenecks, denim, and leather jackets.

"My style is more classy. I'm a very classy guy," he pointed out. "I have changed, but everything still kind of ties together. I just consider myself as an artist. I sing the music that I want to sing, the music that I love, and the music that moves me. I'm happy."

Ramsey's debut album isn't just a set of songs – it's a declaration that he's ready to step into the spotlight as country music's next big star. His dedicated fans are already on board, and it's only a matter of time before the entire industry catches on.
