With 'Glad We Met,' Avery Lynch steps into a new era, co-producing, touring, and connecting with fans like never before.
Rising singer-songwriter Avery Lynch is stepping into a new chapter of her artistry with the release of her latest EP, Glad We Met, out now via RECORDS/Sony Music.
The nine-track project weaves together Lynch's signature lush piano arrangements and soft, expressive vocals, offering a deeply vulnerable portrait of heartbreak, healing, and rediscovering love. The EP features a mix of fan favorites, alongside new material that completes the story. It also marks a creative milestone for the rising star, as she took on the role of co-producer for the very first time.
“The Glad We Met EP is my favorite project I’ve ever made,” she told Fandom Daily. “Each song follows the beginning of the love story I’ve been living for over five years now. Some songs are about heartbreak and moving on, and others are about falling in love again. It all comes together with the title track, ‘I’m Glad We Met,’ which tells the story of meeting my significant other, where we’ve gone, and where we are now.”
Unlike her previous releases, Glad We Met pulls from different chapters of Lynch's life. Some songs were written as far back as 2021, while others were crafted earlier this year. The result is a project that bridges past and present, creating a reflective yet cohesive narrative.
“The songs were written separately, but I realized they all connected,” she explained. “One was from 2021, another from 2022, and the rest came together in 2024. It was really special to piece together songs from different times in my life that still told the same story.”
While Lynch has always been known for her storytelling and evocative vocals, Glad We Met also showcases her growth behind the scenes. Stepping into the co-producer role allowed her to contribute in new ways, from suggesting instrumentation to helping shape arrangements.
“It started with 'Think About It,'which we originally planned as a piano song,” she recalls. “But then we decided to add guitar, and suddenly I was sitting face-to-face with my producer, coming up with lines together. That’s when I realized how much I loved being part of the production process. From there, I co-produced every track on the EP. I don’t think I could produce on my own yet, but I’ve learned how to contribute ideas and direction and that feels really exciting.”
For Lynch, the project also became a way to process and reflect on some of the most formative moments in her life. From moving on after heartbreak to navigating new love, the EP captures the emotional layers of transition.
“Writing about it all felt like a full-circle moment,” she says. “These were experiences I had carried with me but never written about until now. One song is even about a friendship that ended during that time, which influenced my relationships. It felt right to finally tell that story.”
To celebrate the release of Glad We Met, she is embarking on a West Coast headline tour this fall, with dates in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. For an artist who admits performing hasn’t always come easy, the tour represents both a challenge and a reward.
“Performing is tough for me – I get anxious beforehand, but once I’m on stage, I love it,” she says. “Announcing the tour made it all feel real, and then I had this realization: I get to see the fans in person. That’s the reward – singing my songs, hugging them, talking to them. It’s the best feeling.”
Born in Pennsylvania and now based in Los Angeles, the newcomer has been writing songs since she first sat at a piano at age seven. Over the years, she’s developed a reputation as a “happy girl filled with sad songs” – a storyteller whose honesty and vulnerability have resonated widely. With more than 130 million streams, Lynch is quickly becoming one of pop’s most compelling new voices.
With Glad We Met, Lynch has not only shared her most personal work to date, but also proven she’s ready to take creative ownership of her artistry. If this project is any indication, her story is only just beginning.
