A permanent Central Perk Coffeehouse is officially coming to New York City, bringing the iconic Friends hangout spot to life in Times Square.

The café, inspired by the beloved NBC sitcom, will open its doors in late fall 2025, according to a joint release from Central Perk Coffeehouse and Warner Bros. Discovery. The new location follows the success of the first Central Perk café in Boston and promises to deliver a blend of nostalgia and modern flair.

“The contemporary take on the FRIENDS gathering spot is a must-visit where unforgettable moments, exceptional coffee, and delicious food come together in the city that started it all,” the release stated.

The Times Square location will feature a special “orange sofa room,” paying homage to the show’s famous orange couch where Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe spent countless hours.

Behind the menu and design is a team of acclaimed food and beverage experts, including eight-time James Beard Award-winning chef Tom Colicchio.

“While refreshed for today’s guest, the unmistakable spirit of Central Perk lives on – delivering a memorable coffee and dining experience for both locals and visitors,” the release added.

Paul Landino, executive at CenPer Holdings, emphasized that expanding to New York was always part of the plan.

“When we launched the first Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, our goal was always to expand to New York City, a place where fans and friends alike could create their own stories in the city where the series was set,” he said.

The announcement gives Friends fans a new reason to visit Manhattan – this time not for a TV tour, but to sip coffee in a real-life version of one of television’s most famous cafés.
