According to fans, a cosmic alignment occurred when Taylor Swift gave Charlie Puth a nod of recognition in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Her homage echoes reverberated through the fandom universe, stirring excitement among enthusiasts and igniting a fire within Puth himself.

The Tortured Poets Department is an LP rich with lyrical tapestries, yet amidst its poetic labyrinth, Swift's homage to Puth, apparently started by a conversation with ex Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, shines. In the album's eponymous track, Swift masterfully weaves together the names of illustrious wordsmiths, including Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and American luminaries like Patti Smith and a huge nod to Puth.

“You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” sings Swift.

"After these last couple weeks, I wanted to share something with you," Puth confessed in a heartfelt message published by Variety, as he unveiled the imminent arrival of his single "Hero" on May 24. "This is a song I wrote about my friend called ‘Hero.’ Sometimes I get a little nervous being overly honest in my music which is why this was sitting on my hard drive for a while. But I think someone out there was giving me a sign that I needed to release it. So… I declare ‘Hero’ will be out everywhere on May 24th as the first single of my new album. Thank you for your support… you know who you are."

Swift's tender acknowledgment of Puth in The Tortured Poets Department wasn't just a fleeting mention – it was a spotlight illuminating a talented artist who has long admired the reigning queen of pop herself. From soulful covers of Swift's iconic tunes to heartfelt expressions of his willingness to collaborate, Puth has remained a loyal subject in Swift's musical kingdom.

Yet, Puth's allure was always recognized by Matty Healy of the well-loved and sometimes polarizing The 1975. Even in a tweet from 2018, Puth's infectious talent has left even the most seasoned musicians in awe.

As we eagerly anticipate the release of "Hero" and the forthcoming album, let us revel in the brilliance of Puth's past triumphs, from the meteoric ascent of "Charlie" to the electrifying collaborations that have left us yearning for more.

With each chord and lyric, Puth reveals himself as a musician and a skillful master of his craft. So, let us mark our calendars and prepare to be swept away by the new musical path of Puth as he hopefully ascends to new heights with "Hero" and beyond.
