Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson finally speak out, shutting down backstage feud rumors and revealing what really went on behind the scenes.
After a whirlwind few weeks on Dancing With the Stars Season 34, Corey Feldman and his professional partner Jenna Johnson are finally setting the record straight amid swirling rumors of tension behind the scenes.
Fans first speculated something was off when Johnson revealed in a September 6 Instagram Story that she hadn't seen Feldman since the cast announcement three days earlier.
The rumors intensified after Feldman and Johnson were eliminated during the show's September 23 episode, when Feldman notably walked off the stage alone, fueling speculation that their partnership had soured.
Adding to the drama, Johnson's brother-in-law, former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, told the Daily Mail that Johnson faced an "uphill climb" this season, implying Feldman's inexperience and busy schedule made rehearsals challenging.
"She's having a much more difficult time with this entire thing, to the point that it is really difficult for her," Chmerkovskiy said, while also acknowledging Johnson's reigning champ status and praising her professionalism.
But both Feldman and Johnson have since pushed back against the rumors. Johnson posted heartfelt behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, writing, "Corey 💘 Our time together was cut short, but I am SO grateful for the incredible weeks we did get to share!! Thank you for the giggles everyday in rehearsal, thank you for the hard work, and thank you for sharing your life lessons and memories with me! I'll cherish our friendship forever. Never stop dancing 🕺🏻"
She even plugged Feldman's new EP, showing their partnership extended beyond the dance floor.
Feldman responded in the comments, shutting down claims of tension: "Thank U Jenna! U were an absolute joy to work with. I'm so sorry for any negativity the media is using to give the false narrative that our time together was anything less than enjoyable… I was there 7 days a week for the past 3 weeks, doing everything in my power to give U my best."
He also praised Johnson, saying, "She was the queen from last year, so she deserves to be the champ every year in my book. She's really great."
While fans initially read into Feldman's solo exit from the stage after elimination as evidence, it's clear both he and Johnson share a strong, respectful partnership. From consistent communication during the season to mutual admiration in public posts, the pair have proven there was no feud, just a challenging, fun-filled season cut shorter than anyone hoped.
