Jenna Raine on her upcoming album, genre‑bending sound, tour plans, and the impact she hopes to have on her fans
She’s confident, happy-go-lucky, and unapologetically Texan. Not only does this highly anticipated record display Raine at her very core, but it also shows where she’s headed.
Raine made a brief stop in New York City (May 13) to sit down with
Fandom Daily and hang out with her devoted fandom. When asked to sum up the project in one word, she flashed a smile as big as the Lone Star State and said simply, "Texas."
"I would say Texas because I feel like that’s a huge part of who I am," Raine told
Fandom Daily. "I’m very proud of the music that we’re creating. This debut album is very authentic to me. It’s very wholesome, feel-good girlhood."
Authenticity is the album’s guiding thread. Across 12 tracks, Raine weaves small-town storytelling, hopeful romance, and steadfast faith into polished genre-bending songs. Not only does each arrangement have radio-ready hooks, but they also prove Raine’s powerhouse vocals were made for the airwaves.
"Healing isn’t something you have to go through alone," Raine stressed. That message invited listeners into her life and heart. Although she perfectly captures the universal experience of lost love, Raine frames the album as a "baby step" toward integrating more overt faith‑based music into her career while keeping her pop identity intact.
"My faith and being a Christian are such a big part of who I am. These songs aren’t necessarily worship songs, but I'm trying to do both, and I think I can. I wanted this collection to be a no-skip album that has a lot of variety while also feeling cohesive," she explained, while pointing out that it was a challenging task, to say the least. "I didn't want to say anything that felt like it was dishonoring to my faith. My main goal is just to share my heart."
She says the project has something for everyone, but the track "
Guilty Is Charged" will hit the hardest. Its lyrics capture the rush of having a crush, an experience everyone knows.
"I feel like that’s very relatable to everyone," the breakout star pointed out. "It’s actually about my now boyfriend, so it worked out well for me. He’s very touched by all the songs that I write about him. There’s plenty about him on the album and his voice is also on it, which is fun. It’s like a fun little Easter egg for fans."
Her voice, storytelling, and production tie the record together. The arrangements, drum textures, and melodic framing give listeners an experience. Sonically, the record deliberately nods to early‑2000s music and the warm nostalgia of rom‑com soundtracks.
"I listened a lot to '
Unwritten' by
Natasha Bedingfield," Raine admits, and she names
Sheryl Crow and early
Taylor Swift among touchstones as well. They were such an inspo for me while writing this album. I grew up listening to the very hopeful, nostalgic old 2000 songs. I feel like that was such an amazing era. We go back to those movies and back to that era all the time, just because it reminds us of a warm hug. That’s why I gravitated towards it, and that was something I wanted to replicate in my album,” she added.
Raine told
Fandom Daily she hopes her tight-knit community feels “encouraged, hopeful, and happier” listening to the project.
Live performance is part of the album’s DNA. Raine wants her shows to feel like a "Girls Night Out," full of dancing and communal joy. She aims to strip away celebrity polish and meet fans face to face.
"I just want to have a positive impact on people’s lives, and there’s no better way to do that than in person. I want people to see that what I write is true," Raine said. "I want to perform this whole album. We’re gonna have a ball. My goal is to make it just as fun as a
Harry Styles concert.”
Her tour plans are designed to amplify the record’s communal spirit – sing-alongs, onstage moments, and a party atmosphere she hopes will make first‑time concertgoers feel at ease and safe.
She continued, "I want people to feel like they can dance, like they can party. Especially this being my first tour, some people are probably gonna be a little nervous ‘cause we haven’t met before. I want them to just have the best time and express themselves in any way they want to.”
The rising star has yet to announce her tour dates, but warns fans that there is "more to come. A lot more." Until then,
Jeans, Boys & Jesus is a confident, well‑crafted introduction. For listeners who crave warmth, sincerity, and a pop artist willing to wear her roots and faith on her sleeve, this August release is the moment to meet her.
