Fans of Ted Lasso are in full celebration mode as Cristo Fernández, beloved for his big-hearted Dani Rojas, announces a new children’s book inspired by the show. Titled Fútbol Is Life! / ¡Fútbol Es Vida!, the bilingual story, illustrated by James Rey Sanchez and set to release on July 7, 2026. 

The story follows Cristobalito and his trusty soccer ball, exploring new adventures when an injury forces him to step away from the sport. From learning the art of making tamales with his grandmother to trying ballet with his sister, the tale is a celebration of curiosity, resilience, and embracing new passions.

"I hope this book shows kids (and grown-ups) that being yourself – where you come from, your culture, your joy – is your greatest strength," Fernández told People in an exclusive statement. "Especially in times when the world feels heavy, I hope it reminds families that staying open, trying new things, working hard and dreaming big can always move us forward.
