Gabby Windey: "At first I wanted to go full Kourtney Kardashian, where she went in casual leather and Prada sunglasses, but we wanted to do our own thing."
Hold onto your roses, Bachelor Nation – Gabby Windey just dropped the most unexpected but heartwarming update.
The Bachelorette alum, who's currently shining on The Traitors, revealed on March 5 that she secretly tied the knot with comedian Robby Hoffman in a super intimate Las Vegas ceremony.
After nearly two years of dating, the couple decided to make it official in the most low-key, meaningful way possible. In an Instagram video that gave fans a peek at the big moment, Hoffman is seen waiting at the altar while Windey walks down the aisle in a gorgeous lace, form-fitting gown.
The soundtrack? Chappell Roan's upbeat "HOT TO GO!" – because, of course, it's got to be a fun vibe when Hoffman's involved!
"It was the best," Windey gushed to Cosmopolitan about the special day. "In a weird way, it was giving Bachelor because there were roses everywhere. I never envisioned my wedding as a kid or anything, but that's part of what made this feel so right. Actually being there and feeling it, it was so us."
And when she says "us," she means it. The ceremony was incredibly private, with just four people in the room – Windey, Hoffman, the minister, and a photographer. No big crowd, no over-the-top performances.
"There was no performance about it," she explained to the outlet. "I feel like there can be so much pressure on whoever's watching you at weddings. We were so nervous just having it be us, too."
Windey even remembered the cute moment when she turned to Hoffman and asked, "Should we get married?" To which, of course, Hoffman said yes. Las Vegas was never the plan, it was an impromptu trip. They were forced to flee their home due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
"We called Palm Springs. Nobody answered. We were like, 'There's a fire.' And they were like, 'Sorry, we can't help you.' So we just kept driving east. To Vegas," recalled Windey. "I was like, 'What place has hotels 24/7 no matter what? Vegas! An hour and a half longer drive? Well, we're already in the car.' So we did it, and as we were driving out, we saw the fire," added Hoffman.
For Windey, who had a pretty public breakup with her Bachelorette pick, Erich Schwer, less than two months after their finale aired in November 2022, this is a completely different kind of love story – one that feels so right.
Fans are absolutely over the moon for the reality star. They've been on this journey with her, witnessing the highs and lows. As one fan said, "I've followed Gabby's story since Bachelorette, and I'm so happy she's found someone who truly gets her. She deserves all the happiness in the world!"
Her story is more than just a wedding – it's a celebration of Windey embracing her true self as an individual and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Bachelor Nation is cheering loud and proud, and we can't wait to see what's next for this dynamic duo.
