On Thursday, March 20, the beloved Grammy-winning artist, Kelly Clarkson, marked an impressive milestone: the 1,000th episode of her hit NBC talk show.

Coming back from a brief hiatus, Clarkson kicked off the festivities with a powerful performance of Whitney Houston’sI Have Nothing,” accompanied by her talented bandmates, Jason Halbert and Jaco Caraco.

The special episode was elevated by the presence of distinguished guests like Tyler Perry, who shared laughs with a highly caffeinated Clarkson, and Alicia Vikander, who introduced Clarkson to soft licorice, a popular Swedish treat.

Clarkson reflected on various topics, including the show's holiday traditions, featuring furry animals as special guests, and the relocation of The Kelly Clarkson Show to New York. She also reminisced about the poignant moments throughout the show's run.

"For 1,000 episodes, we've shared laughter, tears with touching stories, sung with guests, danced, celebrated, and even competed," she shared. "I've often ended up losing, and that's alright."

Clarkson said, responding to laughter from the audience. "Throughout this journey, we've found solace in each other's company. Looking back, we're all tremendously proud of what we've created and the community that has formed. I'm thankful to everyone who has been part of this incredible experience. It's been an amazing ride. Thank you so much."

The episode reached an emotional high with a heartfelt montage of Clarkson’s children, River, 10, and Remy, 8, which was featured in the show's "What I’m Liking" segment. Despite her efforts to keep the tears at bay, the proud mom was visibly moved – capturing viewers' hearts with her genuine emotion.

Clarkson Gets Flustered Over Warren Zeiders

The episode began innocently enough when the "Pretty Little Poison" singer Warren Zeiders joined the Oct. 18 broadcast to discuss various topics, including his passion for lacrosse. Clarkson initially commented on the obscurity of lacrosse to many viewers, but her train of thought was abruptly interrupted by an unexpected image on the screen – a shirtless Zeiders wielding a lacrosse stick. "Oh s–t!" she blurted out, her expression one of total surprise as the audience erupted in laughter.

Zeiders couldn't help but laugh along as Clarkson attempted to regain her composure. "I didn't know that was coming. I need to be prepared for that," she remarked, gesturing towards the image. "Well, that’s nice," she complimented Zeiders, before trying to steer the conversation back to his athletic pursuits. However, her effort was short-lived as she was quickly sidetracked again by the audience's amusement, leading her to giggle and wave her arms in a futile attempt to settle down.

It's Remy's World and We Just Live In It

In November, Clarkson's son took the stage on The Kelly Clarkson Show, delivering a captivating rendition of Frank Sinatra's iconic "My Way," which earned a rousing round of applause. The performance was a hit, quickly going viral with the segment uploaded to the show's official YouTube channel, attracting over 1.4 million views. In a follow-up clip from January 8, featuring the young star with his mom, Remy couldn't hide his delight. With a smile, he cheekily asked Clarkson to remind him about the video's success.

"Yeah, how many views did I get again?" he inquired, prompting laughter from his mom and sister, River Rose, age 10.

Clarkson then shared a playful exchange about her son's reaction to the video's popularity. "I told him, 'Man, buddy, you’ve got over a million views on your video,' and he quipped, 'Do you get that many views?'" she recounted, playfully imitating her son's surprise.

Clarkson Doesn't Recognize Her Own Song

"Since U Been Gone" ranks among Clarkson's most iconic tracks, yet surprisingly, she doesn't always recognize it right off the bat. In a humorous turn of events from a 2022 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson found herself literally floored by her delayed reaction. Anne Hathaway identified the song before her, leading to Clarkson's playful embarrassment.

Hathaway and Clarkson squared off in a game called “Sing That Name That Tune,” where the band plays snippets of songs and the contestants must quickly discern the tune and sing the lyrics accurately. Clarkson, struggling a bit, pleaded with her band, “Can you play a fricking song I’ll know?!” Rising to the challenge, the band played one of Clarkson’s own hits. Yet, it was Hathaway who recognized it first, showcasing a delightful twist in the game.

"No Scrubs" with Keke Palmer & Clarkson

Keke Palmer's recent visit to The Kelly Clarkson Show was a hit, brimming with lively energy and laughter. The highlight was when Palmer and Clarkson spontaneously burst into an impromptu duet of TLC's "No Scrubs," delighting fans with their vibrant performance. The fun escalated as they engaged in a competitive game of Pop Pop Quiz, where Clarkson and Palmer were challenged to guess song lyrics from trivia questions inspired by pop music.

'Aquaman' Gets Interviewed by Clarkson's Kids

In 2019, Jason Momoa made a delightful appearance, where he found himself charmingly interrogated by the host's kids about all things Aquaman, creating an endearing segment. Clarkson's children, River and Remy, who are enthusiastic fans of the DC Comics hero, joined Momoa on set. They eagerly asked some crucial, tough questions – such as if Aquaman is acquainted with the Little Mermaid and where the superhero manages to find a bathroom.
