Lil Nas X has spoken out after his arrest in Los Angeles, calling the experience “terrifying” while facing multiple felony charges and pledging he’s going to be okay.
Lil Nas X has addressed fans after a whirlwind four days that saw him hospitalized and booked on four felony counts in Los Angeles.
In an Instagram Story posted Tuesday, Aug. 26, the 26-year-old rapper reassured followers, “Your girl is gonna be okay, boo… S--t’s gonna be all right,” while calling the ordeal “f---ing terrifying.”
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Montero Lamar Hill (Lil Nas X) has been charged with three felony counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer, stemming from an Aug. 21 encounter in Studio City.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in state prison. He pleaded not guilty, posted $75,000 bail, and is due back in court Sept. 15.
LAPD said officers responded to reports of a nude man on Ventura Boulevard. The individual later identified as Lil Nas X allegedly charged at officers before being taken into custody.
Video published by TMZ shows him walking in white briefs and cowboy boots that morning. He was transported to a hospital before booking.
According to the Associated Press, His attorney Christy O’Connor has emphasized that there’s no confirmed evidence of drug involvement at this stage and called the incident an “absolute aberration” in his life. A judge also ordered him to attend weekly Narcotics Anonymous meetings while the case proceeds.
Family members echoed that tone. His father, Robert Stafford, said his son is “very remorseful” and asked the public to “keep him in your prayers,” while denying drug use allegations.
The fan conversation is split and loud. Many supporters expressed relief after his update, but a significant chorus insists that superstar status shouldn’t influence the outcome, calling for accountability and due process like anyone else. Others urge compassion and mental-health support as the facts are sorted in court.
