Things are heating up outside the villa just as much as they are inside.

Love Island USA alum Jeremiah Brown has officially broken his silence about his dramatic and short-lived relationship with co-star Huda Mustafa and fans are not keeping quiet about it either.

In a new interview with Nick Viall on the Viall Files podcast (June 25), Brown didn’t hold back, calling the romance “toxic” and accusing Huda of showing “a lot of self-centeredness.”

According to the reality star, their chemistry was instant but unsustainable – spiraling into emotional arguments and miscommunication he admitted played a big role in. One of the biggest turning points? Pancake Day. Yes, really.

He shared, “It was very real and very genuine off the bat. It got a little toxic due to me not nipping in the bud the crazy expectations that she had set for me early on. Then the communication at the end was just not being perceived well.”

About the pancake incident, Jeremiah said, “Things were amazing up until pancake day… We had a week where it was fire. There were some minor things, but we had such a genuine connection.”

He added, “Where things started going south was when I told her who I was in a relationship. Then she kind of took that as who I need to be now. I didn’t nip that in the bud. So I take responsibility. I didn’t sit her down and go, ‘That’s not who I am.'”

Brown also reflected on their conversations, noting, “Not to bash on her, but it was a lot of self-centeredness. I noticed that in conversation with her, which is why I started to move because she didn’t really ask me questions about myself.”

When it came to Mustafa opening up about her daughter, he insisted, “I remember we talked a lot about her daughter during the date. Then we talked a lot about her daughter on the pink couch. We talked about her daughter for, like, 30 to 45 minutes.”

Fans, however, are defending Mustafa on this point. One viewer commented, “That’s part of her story. If he saw that as a red flag, then maybe she dodged a bullet.”

Brown admitted he felt viewers might have sensed what he was “feeling” but not vocalizing, especially when America voted to couple him up with Iris Kendall.

He also said he tried to handle things maturely, sharing, “It was me apologizing for not showing up… I am going to apologize, validate your feelings and then I want to go from conflict to resolution — or at least start working toward that.”

With tensions this high, fans are still debating whether this breakup was really about pancakes or something deeper.
