"I've always liked to tell my story through song," shared Patrick. "But more than that, I write about my experiences in the hopes that they'll empower others. In the last few years, I've undergone a massive personal transformation – career shifts, therapy, and deep healing. This album is a reflection of that journey."

Patrick collaborated with esteemed songwriters from Music Row to craft every original track on her project. She shared that being surrounded by supportive creatives empowered her to let her guard down and write from the heart – a challenging feat many artists continue to grapple with today. Notable contributors like Karen Kosowski, Emma-Lee, Nicolette Hayford, Ella Langley, and Trannie Anderson joined Patrick in shaping this diverse and compelling collection of songs.

"Just getting to a place of confidence and having a rapport with people you're in the room with," she explained, reflecting on her writing process. "Karen Kosowski was one of the writers on 'Blood From a Stone,' and that song rolled into her ending up as a producer on the record. Making that music with her was just one of the best experiences of my life. I was dealing with a lot, and I was like, 'I got these lyrics. I know this is really heavy.' They were so supportive."

From the very first track, "Blood From a Stone," Patrick delves into the complicated dynamics of her childhood, specifically her relationship with her mother. The album title Golden Child emerges from this song, where Patrick sings about the pressure of being seen as perfect.

"I was the golden child," she admits, revealing that her worth was often tied to her success. "I was the star athlete, the honor roll student, the singer with the record deal. But if I wasn't succeeding, I wouldn't feel valuable."

This realization was a turning point in Patrick's healing, allowing her to release herself from the suffocating grip of external validation. However, the album isn't just about facing difficult memories – it's about reclaiming power.

A standout track on the album is "The Boy Who Cried Drunk," a poignant ballad that explores the harsh realities of domestic violence – a topic Patrick knows all too well. With striking imagery, she skillfully crafts a vivid narrative that captures the devastating shift from love to turmoil in a romantic relationship.

"I'm a survivor," Patrick declared, her voice full of strength. "I'm trying to remove the stigma around those conversations and raise awareness, provide resources, and again, just empowerment. When people share their stories with me, it makes me angry and sad for these women. But that's what ends up motivating me in the end. I'm going to take this horrible feeling of what these women are going through, and I'm going to channel that into how I can make a difference," she added.

Patrick is ready to take her mission to new heights, continuing to advocate for the voiceless in the battle against domestic violence. On October 28, she will celebrate the release of her latest album at Nashville Palace, with all proceeds benefiting the YWCA's Domestic Violence Services Program. This meaningful event will feature a live performance from Patrick, along with a lineup of prominent Nashville songwriters.

The night will also celebrate Patrick's artistic growth, as Golden Child showcases her sound, proving she is a genre-bending artist who defies categorization. The album layers various musical influences, including country, rock, and even pop, into a cohesive sound that represents who Patrick is.

"I've always had a love for so many different styles of music," Patrick pointed out. "This time, I wasn't afraid to pull from all of them. I wanted this record to sound like me in every way, and I think we achieved that."

Expect the unexpected from Patrick as she masterfully blends vibrant energies, creating a sound that feels utterly natural.

"It's a tribute to my roots while simultaneously adding my own unique stamp. Gwen Stefani was a significant influence growing up, inspiring me to embrace my individuality and be unapologetically myself," she explained. "Covering 'Just A Girl' was my way of honoring her legacy while showcasing the journey I've taken as an artist."

She recognizes the importance of being true to all parts of herself, especially in a career where artists are often pressured to fit certain narratives. Her newfound confidence in expressing her entire identity – tomboy, feminine, vulnerable, tough – is empowering not just for her but for her listeners.

"For so long, I was marketed as the tough girl, the whiskey-drinking, hunting, fishing tomboy. And while those things are part of me, they're not all of me," she says. "There were parts of myself I was hiding to fit into that mold, especially my feminine side. I realized I can be both."

Golden Child is more than just an album – it's a declaration of freedom. It's a reminder that true success comes not from external validation but from owning your story and living authentically. And in doing so, Patrick is empowering her listeners to do the same. As Patrick prepares to embark on tour, she looks forward to performing these songs live and connecting with fans in a more intimate way.

"The best part of this journey is knowing that my music resonates with people," she says. "I've received messages from fans telling me how much these songs have helped them, and that's why I do this. To connect, to empower, and to remind people they're not alone."

With Golden Child, Patrick has solidified herself as a force – one who refuses to be boxed in, who is willing to embrace vulnerability, and who isn't afraid to evolve. This is her moment, and she's shining brighter than ever before.
