Emilio Garcia, a former cameraman who worked with Megan Thee Stallion, has taken legal action against the hip-hop sensation, alleging harassment and a hostile work environment. In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Garcia recounts a distressing incident during a trip to Ibiza, Spain, where he claims to have been trapped inside a moving vehicle.
According to Vulture, Garcia was inside the car while the artist was engaging in sexual activity with another woman. He claims that this event was just one episode in a series of troubling experiences he endured while working for the Grammy-winning artist.
The lawsuit, filed by Garcia's attorney, Ron Zambrano, outlines a pattern of mistreatment allegedly inflicted upon Garcia by the rapper. Not only does Garcia claim to have been subjected to fat-shaming insults from Thee Stallion, including being called a "fat bitch," but he also asserts that he was treated differently and experienced a decrease in job bookings following the Ibiza trip.
Moreover, Garcia contends that he was pressured to remain silent about the incident, with the artist purportedly warning him, "Don't ever discuss what you saw."

These allegations paint a troubling picture of the work environment surrounding Thee Stallion, raising questions about workplace ethics and employee rights within the entertainment industry. Zambrano emphasizes the gravity of the situation, stating, "Emilio should never have been put in a position of having to be in the vehicle with her while she had sex with another woman. 'Inappropriate' is putting it lightly. Exposing this behavior to employees is definitely illegal."
In response to the lawsuit, the rapper's attorney, Alex Spiro, maintains that the claims are solely motivated by financial gain.
"This is an employment claim for money — with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her. We will deal with this in court," said Spiro in a statement obtained by NBC News. "We will deal with this in court."
However, the seriousness of the allegations cannot be understated, as they highlight broader issues of workplace misconduct and accountability.

Throughout his employment with Megan, Garcia alleges that he faced relentless sexual and fat-shaming comments, which plunged him into profound emotional distress. Reflecting on his experience, Garcia laments the absence of proper support structures within the entertainment industry.
"What I learned throughout the years is that, especially coming from an office environment, is, you know, there’s no HR department in the entertainment business," he told NBC in an exclusive interview. "So if you don’t know that you’re being done wrong, you don’t really know how to advocate for yourself until you start asking maybe you start asking your peers who have representation, they have agents, they have management, they have attorney."
Garcia's lawsuit seeks compensation for unpaid wages, overtime, and other benefits and aims to address broader issues of workplace rights and employee protections. His attorney, Zambrano, asserts, "Megan just needs to pay our client what he’s due, own up to her behavior, and quit this sort of sexual harassment and fat-shaming conduct"
Furthermore, the lawsuit outlines alleged employment and wage violations, focusing on Garcia's classification as an independent contractor, which left him without basic insurance coverage and deprived him of essential healthcare.
In light of these allegations, it's crucial for both the entertainment industry and society at large to confront issues of workplace harassment and discrimination. By holding individuals and organizations accountable for their actions, we can strive towards creating safer and more equitable work environments for everyone involved.
As the legal proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen how Megan Thee Stallion and other stakeholders will respond to these serious accusations.
