The Stanley Cup Final is officially must-watch television. With 33 goals through four games, celebrity sightings, overtime drama, and a 2-2 series tie, fans are calling this one of the most entertaining championship matchups in years.
Not only are we watching a huge moment in the NBA Finals with the Knicks and Spurs battling it out, but hockey is bringing its own chaos too with the Hurricanes and Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Final. As a sports fan, this is the best time of year – championships everywhere, nonstop energy, trash talk, and high-pressure wins. The NHL Finals have been giving exactly that.

So... let's go hit the ice!
The Stanley Cup Final is the NHL's championship series, a best-of-seven showdown where the champions of the Eastern and Western Conferences battle it out for hockey's biggest prize. The Stanley Cup itself is legendary. First awarded in 1893, it's the oldest championship trophy in North American sports.
And if your team wins? Every player gets a full day to spend with the Cup during the offseason. Some take it home. Some take it to their hometowns. Others throw unforgettable parties with it. That's hockey tradition at its finest.
The most successful franchise in Stanley Cup history remains the legendary Montreal Canadiens, who have captured an incredible 24 championships. Meanwhile, Canadiens icon Henri Richard still holds the record for the most Stanley Cup victories by any player, lifting the trophy an astonishing 11 times.
But enough history. Let's talk about the madness happening right now.
The 2026 Stanley Cup Final features the Vegas Golden Knights and the Carolina Hurricanes, and this series has delivered everything fans could possibly ask for.
After four games, the series is tied 2-2.
Even crazier? These teams have combined for 33 goals through four games, tying for the third-most goals scored through four games of a Stanley Cup Final in NHL history. Multi-goal leads have disappeared. Momentum has swung back and forth. Fans genuinely have no idea what's going to happen from one period to the next.
The next game (June 11) will be Game 5, with both teams looking to break the deadlock and grab control of the series. Every remaining game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will air on ABC in the United States. Game 6 will be on Sunday, June 14 and Game 7 will air on Wednesday, June 17.
And let's not forget one of the most brutal realities in sports...if a Stanley Cup Final game is tied after regulation, nobody is going home. Unlike regular-season hockey, there are no shootouts. Teams play endless 20-minute sudden-death overtime periods until somebody scores. It can go all night if necessary.
That's championship hockey at its finest.
Vegas has been powered by some of the biggest stars in the sport.
Mitch Marner has been putting together a postseason performance for the ages, leading all playoff scorers with 29 points and 19 assists. He also delivered the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history during Game 3, sending fans into complete disbelief.
Jack Eichel has been equally dominant, sitting near the top of the playoff scoring race while showcasing elite speed every night he touches the ice. Then there's Brett Howden, who has become one of the most dangerous goal scorers of the postseason, finding the back of the net seemingly whenever Vegas needs a big moment.
Jordan Staal is the first player age 37-or-older to score in the first 4 games of the Stanley Cup Final 🔥

But Carolina isn't backing down.
If anything, the Hurricanes look stronger every game.
The Canes have built their reputation on relentless defense and a suffocating forecheck that never seems to stop. Their offense took a little while to wake up in this series, but once it did, Carolina reminded everyone why they earned their spot in the Final.
Veteran captain Jordan Staal has been turning back the clock. At 37 years old, he's delivered huge goals, leadership, and physical play that has energized the entire Hurricanes roster. Meanwhile, goaltender Frederik Andersen continues to strengthen his case for playoff MVP honors. Time after time, he's delivered clutch saves when Carolina has needed them most.
For Hurricanes fans, this run feels special.
The franchise's only Stanley Cup championship came back in 2006 when Carolina defeated the Edmonton Oilers in seven games. Twenty years later, fans can almost taste another title.
......Then there's Vegas.
The Golden Knights continue to prove why they're one of the NHL's model franchises. They have speed, depth, scoring, defense, and confidence. Their comeback victories throughout the postseason have been nothing short of ridiculous.
Whether it's Marner, Eichel, Mark Stone, Pavel Dorofeyev, or another star stepping up, Vegas always seems to have somebody ready for a big moment. Golden Knights fans haven't forgotten that magical 2023 championship run when Vegas captured the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Now they're chasing number two. Of course, no championship series would be complete without celebrity sightings.
Game 3 in Las Vegas turned into a mini red-carpet event.
Music popular artist T-Pain was spotted supporting the Golden Knights, while Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter showed up rocking Vegas gear. Australian singer G Flip even got the unique experience of being mic'd up along the glass during the action.
Meanwhile, Carolina had some celebrity power of its own.
One Tree Hill stars James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti returned to North Carolina to cheer on the Hurricanes, giving longtime fans a nostalgic moment. Former NFL coaching legend Bill Belichick was also spotted alongside NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman during Game 1. Because apparently everybody wants a front-row seat to this chaos.
Golden Knights fans, remain confident despite dropping Game 4. Many pointed to Vegas' resilience throughout the postseason and believe the team's star power will eventually make the difference.

At this point, nobody knows who's winning this thing. And that's exactly why fans can't stop watching. Every game feels like it could become an instant classic. Every third period feels like a heart attack waiting to happen. Every overtime feels like a movie scene.
Our Fan of View?
This series is going seven games. Vegas has the offensive firepower. Carolina has the defensive structure and goaltending. Neither team looks ready to blink first.
The Stanley Cup Final has turned into one of the most entertaining championship series in sports right now (besides the NBA). We don't know who to keep up with right now! This series is shaping up to deliver a finish that hockey fans will be talking about for years to come.
