Country newcomer Spencer Hatcher is bringing heart, grit, and a whole lot of honky tonk back to the forefront with his debut EP, Honky Tonk Hideaway, out now via QHMG / Stone Country Records. The six-track project is a lively mix of classic country storytelling and modern energy, showcasing a sound that feels timeless yet entirely his own.

The release marks a major milestone for Hatcher, whose single “When She Calls Me Cowboy” has already made a strong first impression at country radio, debuting as one of the most added songs in the format and quickly earning a loyal following. For the rising artist, this moment is the culmination of years of hard work, patience, and faith.

“I’m very excited,” Hatcher shares. “These are things I’ve always dreamed about, and for them to finally be happening, it’s amazing. From the radio tour to Impact Day to having my music streaming everywhere, it’s a real blessing, and I’m thankful for all of these opportunities.”

That sense of gratitude fuels every song on Honky Tonk Hideaway, but it’s especially present in “When She Calls Me Cowboy,” a steamy slow dance that captures both tenderness and tradition. “It’s one of those songs that just hits you,” Hatcher explains. “The lyrics, the story, the emotion, it’s unique. It’s intimate, but it’s real country through and through. We’ve got pedal steel, we’ve got fiddle, that’s how we like to do it.”

Hatcher’s commitment to keeping country music authentic has earned him a dedicated fanbase—one that’s grown steadily over the years from his early days of posting covers online to packing out shows across the country. “I’ve always had a really supportive fan base,” he says. “Some people have even flown in from Canada to come to my shows. They’re real country music lovers who connect with what I do. Now, I’m seeing people who love me not just for my videos, but for my songs. Streaming is taking off, radio is playing my music all over America, and people are starting to see me as an artist in my own right. That’s an incredible feeling.”

Produced by Jason Sellers, Ilya Toshinskiy, and Mickey Jack Cones, Honky Tonk Hideaway delivers a refreshing blend of boot-stomping energy and emotional storytelling. The title track is a barn-burning anthem about escaping your worries and cutting loose, built around fiery fiddle and piano licks that bring classic country swagger back to life. “Honky Tonk Hideaway is one of those songs that’ll get you going,” Hatcher says. “It’s a Friday night or Saturday night kind of song—it makes you want to have a good time.”

Elsewhere on the EP, Hatcher shows off his range as both a vocalist and storyteller. “The Way She Lies” captures the ache of loving someone who can’t be trusted, while “On the Inside” proves that heartbreak doesn’t have to kill the party. “Has Anybody Ever” finds him exploring vulnerability with romantic honesty, and “Cold Beer and Common Sense” closes the collection with a message of unity and perspective, reminding listeners that we often have more in common than we realize.

For Hatcher, Honky Tonk Hideaway is more than just a debut; it’s a reflection of his roots, his influences, and his belief in real country music. “This EP represents the kind of country music I want to make and the kind of music my fans tell me they want to hear,” he says. “I grew up loving artists like Johnny Cash, Keith Whitley, and Elvis, and my hope is that my songs will make people feel as good as my heroes’ songs made me feel.”

With Honky Tonk Hideaway now available everywhere and “When She Calls Me Cowboy” continuing to impact radio across the country, Spencer Hatcher is proving that classic country isn’t just alive, it’s thriving. Authentic, heartfelt, and unapologetically traditional, this debut is a sign of big things to come.
