Taylor Swift recently had a fangirl moment that reminded fans she's just like the rest of us.

Earlier this week (Oct. 20), AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys shared a playful mashup of Swift's "Elizabeth Taylor" from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl with the group's 1997 hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)." This mashup instantly caught the hitmakers attention, leaving her to comment "OH HI AJ OH MY GOD" under the viral video.

Swift's enthusiastic response quickly garnered tens of thousands of likes and sparked excitement among fans.

While there's no official collaboration between Swift and McLean, their mutual admiration has fans hopeful for a future project. One fan commented, "As a BSB fan for 28 years and Taylor for 19... damn, this would be a collab I never knew we needed!"

For many millennials, the Backstreet Boys were the soundtrack of their youth. Swift's nostalgic reaction to the mashup highlights her connection to that era. Could the boy band's influence have inspired some of her music? Only time will tell, but for now, fans can enjoy the possibility of a collaboration between two pop icons.

Swift's latest track, "Elizabeth Taylor," offers a poignant exploration of fame, love, and the complexities of public life. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor, Swift delves into themes of resilience and the challenges of maintaining personal relationships under the scrutiny of the spotlight.

Musically, "Elizabeth Taylor" blends electropop with soft rock elements, featuring production by Swift, Max Martin, and Shellback. The track's upbeat tempo contrasts with its introspective lyrics, creating a dynamic listening experience that resonates with fans and critics alike. Fans have responded enthusiastically to the song, with many praising its emotional depth.

We can expect to see several creative mashups of Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl tracks, and while McLean might be one of the first, he certainly won’t be the last. Fans are predicting that “Elizabeth Taylor,” alongside the title track and "Opalite" will be some of the biggest hits from the collection.
