Taylor Swift is taking legal action to protect herself from an alleged stalker who has shown up at her Los Angeles home multiple times, claiming they’re in a relationship and even insisting they share a child.

The pop superstar filed a restraining order Monday (June 9) against 45-year-old Brian Jason Wagner, a Colorado resident who Swift says has been stalking her for over a year. According to court documents obtained by TheWrap, Wagner appeared at her L.A. residence on at least five occasions – three of them in July 2024 alone.

So, what exactly happened?

“I have no relationship with Mr. Wagner and have never met or communicated with him,” said Swift in a formal declaration. “There is absolutely no legitimate reason for him to be attempting to contact me or my staff, to approach my home, or to make representations that he lives there.”

Yet, Wagner has allegedly gone to great lengths to insert himself into her life, including changing his driver’s license to list Swift’s home address and showing up at her property claiming they’re romantically involved.

Even more disturbing…Swift’s security team reported that Wagner once showed up with a glass bottle that “could have been used as a weapon.” In each incident, he told guards he was there to see Swift, claiming she was his partner.

Swift says she never disclosed her address publicly, which makes his repeated appearances all the more terrifying.

“I do not share publicly where I reside and have never shared my address or the location of my Los Angeles residence with Mr. Wagner. Therefore, the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where i reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family,” she wrote. “The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm.”

The singer also revealed that while Wagner was incarcerated, he sent her long letters professing his obsession and detailing made-up stories about their supposed relationship.

The temporary restraining order, now in effect, requires Wagner to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift, her home, her vehicle, and her place of work. A court hearing is scheduled for June 30 in Los Angeles, where Swift and her legal team will seek a more permanent solution.

For fans, it’s a sobering reminder that fame doesn’t shield artists from very real dangers. While Swift continues to break records and headline stadium tours, she’s also dealing with threats no one should have to face. As the hearing approaches, Swifties everywhere are rallying behind her – hoping this legal action brings her the protection and peace she deserves.
