Abigail Anderson Berard: “I’m having his babyyyy… 💙”
Taylor Swift’s best friend since childhood, Abigail Anderson Berard, will soon welcome her first child.
Red-head Abigail turned to social media late Wednesday (July 24) night to announce that she’s expecting with her husband, Charles Berard. She revealed the happy news on Instagram with a charming nod to Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
The Nashville native pulled lyrics from Swift’s chart-topping track “But Daddy I Love Him.” The caption read, “I’m having his babyyyy.” The happy couple has yet to reveal the sex of the baby, but the blue heart emoji included in the post subtly indicates that it will be a boy.
The announcement came with a playful photo of Berard showcasing her baby bump in a black shirt with one button undone and a snack of Cheez-Its.
The hitmaker was quick to show her support in the comment section.
“When the internet says ‘MOTHER’ I feel like this pic is actually what they mean,” wrote Swift. The pop phenomenon was not the only A-listers expressing excitement and admiration.
“Omg congratssssss!!!!” said Blake Lively. “Ahh congrats 🥳🥹🙏” shared Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh.
While many Swifties highlighted that Swift is entering her auntie era again, others pointed out that Berard has remained a devoted Swiftie. Swift and Abigail have been close friends since high school. Their friendship has been well-documented over the years, with Abigail often appearing in Swift’s social media posts and public appearances.
One of the most notable references to their friendship is in Swift’s song "Fifteen" from her 2008 album Fearless, which mentions Abigail by name. Swift has also shared stories about their bond in interviews, highlighting how Anderson has been a supportive presence in her life. Their friendship has remained strong despite the changes and successes in their individual lives – showcasing a deep and enduring connection.
Abigail was spotted last year (May 6) on the second night of The Eras Tour in Nashville. She was seated in the Nissan Stadium VIP tent, where Swift’s friends and family can enjoy the show.
Swift performed “Fifteen” during the surprise songs part of her set. She said, “I feel like if i give you one piece of information, you’d know exactly what song I was about to play.” After teasing the audience, she launched into the heartfelt tribute to her best friend.
Swift belted, “Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday | But I realized some bigger dreams of mine |And Abigail gave everything she had | To a boy who changed his mind | And we both cried.”
She did not hesitate to conclude the original lyrics with " And that’s alright.” This small twist reflected their growth and mature perspective as 30-somethings.
