Country superstar Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are expanding their family once again and fans can’t stop talking about it.

The couple revealed on Tuesday morning (August 26) that they’re officially expecting their fifth child, melting hearts with a pregnancy announcement that was as musical as it was magical.

The video, shared on Instagram, begins with Akins asking her husband, “Are you ready, honey?” Rhett nods with a grin, strums his guitar, and launches into a new version of his hit single “Life Changes.” This time, the lyrics were updated to fit their real-life moment.

“Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad / A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had / Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way / That’s five under 10, hey, what can I say? / Yeah, life changes…”

As Rhett sang, Akins stepped back from the camera to reveal her baby bump, smiling as she held up the sonogram. By the end of the clip, the couple’s joy was undeniable. Rhett captioned the post, “Here we go again! We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good.”

The new arrival will join the couple’s four daughters – Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3) – who, according to Rhett, are already thrilled about becoming big sisters again.

But fans? They were shocked. Social media quickly exploded with reactions, as many admitted they didn’t see baby No. 5 coming. Messages of congratulations poured in, with one fan writing, “This is the cutest announcement ever – congrats to your beautiful family!”

Others pointed out the couple’s streak of girls, saying they’re now on “team boy” and eagerly waiting for a gender reveal.

The announcement also adds Rhett to a growing list of country stars expecting babies in 2025, including Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Scotty McCreery, Chris Lane, and Hannah Ellis. Still, it’s Rhett’s playful and heartwarming reveal that’s stealing the spotlight.

With four daughters already lighting up their household, fans are crossing their fingers that this might finally be the boy that balances out the Akins-Rhett crew.
