Tom Holland was rushed to the hospital after a Spider-Man stunt mishap, but fans are eager for his speedy recovery and the July 2026 release of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.'
Tom Holland was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering a mild concussion while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, Scotland. According to Deadline, the inccident occurred during a stunt sequence. Production was forced to press pause on the Marvel blockbuster.
Holland, 28, is expected to make a full recovery and return to set within a few days. The pause in filming is said to be “out of precaution” while the actor rests. He is allegedly being treated for a mild concussion. Representatives for Holland have not yet publicly commented on the injury.
The mishap hasn’t stopped the actor from fulfilling prior commitments. Just one day after his hospital visit, Holland made a rare appearance with his fiancée, Zendaya, at a charity event for The Brothers Trust – a nonprofit organization he co-founded with his siblings Sam, Harry, and Paddy Holland.
The fundraiser, held at Christie’s auction house in London, featured Holland as the host and quizmaster of a pub-style trivia contest. Winners were awarded several prizes, including a round of golf with the Marvel star.
Fans were quick to flood social media with messages of support following news of the accident. Many wished Holland a speedy recovery, while others voiced concerns about whether the injury could delay the film’s release. The upcoming installment, scheduled to hit theaters in July 2026, has been one of the most highly anticipated entries in the Spider-Man franchise since its announcement earlier this year.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to take Peter Parker’s story in a new direction, building on the foundation of the previous trilogy. Zendaya, who reprises her role as Michelle “MJ” Jones, has been spotted on set in London watching Holland film action sequences. Early reports suggest the film will explore Parker’s next chapter with bigger stunts, higher emotional stakes, and a renewed focus on the Peter-MJ dynamic.
Holland himself has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the role, telling YouTube’s Flip Your Wig series in July that he was “over the moon” to don the Spider-Man suit again. “Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal,” he said. “And I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID; we shot the entire film on stages.”
Marvel has not yet released additional details about the film’s plot or cast, but with Holland back in the spotlight and fans rallying behind him after his accident, anticipation remains sky-high.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 17, 2026.
