Week 6 of Dancing With the Stars Season 34 transported viewers straight to the Emerald City for Wicked Night, with 10 couples performing routines inspired by the beloved Wicked movie soundtrack. The ballroom was alive with magic, drama, and jaw-dropping choreography, and fans couldn’t get enough.

The night kicked off with a Broadway-level medley choreographed by Christopher Scott, blending songs like “No One Mourns the Wicked,” “Defying Gravity,” and “Dancing Through Life.” Hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro channeled Glinda and Elphaba, while Derek Hough took center stage for the “Dancing Through Life” segment. Adding star power, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo sent a special video message to introduce the evening.

Scott Hoying & Rylee Arnold – Contemporary to “The Wizard and I”

Scott and Rylee opened the individual performances with a heartfelt Contemporary routine. Fans know Scott is a huge Wicked fan, and it showed in his dedication. The judges praised his enthusiasm, though Bruno noted a few sloppy transitions, and Carrie Ann encouraged better arm control. Despite a solid performance, Scott and Rylee ultimately were eliminated, leaving fans speculating the timing was strategic since Scott is about to tour with Pentatonix. Scott called it “the perfect way to go,” and Rylee said she couldn’t have asked for a better partner.

Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy – Jazz to “What Is This Feeling?”

Alix embraced her musical theater roots for a playful Jazz routine. Her famous Glinda hair flip and the book sequence recreation wowed the judges, who applauded her storytelling and connection with the music. While not the hardest routine technically, it was a fan favorite and highlighted Alix’s charm and stage presence.

Robert Irwin & Witney Carson – Jazz to “Dancing Through Life”

Robert channeled Prince Fiyero in a routine full of theatrical energy. Judges were blown away, calling it ambitious, joyful, and Broadway-worthy. Fans praised Robert’s charisma and growing confidence – many see him as a future contender for the Mirrorball Trophy.

Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas – Quickstep to “Popular”

Whitney embodied Glinda with energy and precision, and the judges rewarded her with the season’s first perfect 10s. Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach – Rumba to “I’m Not That Girl”

Dylan stepped out of his comfort zone with a sultry Rumba. Judges praised his connection with the story and his improved technique, though Bruno noted some minor control issues with his hips. Fans appreciated the growth and chemistry between Dylan and Daniella.

Andy Richter & Emma Slater – Jazz to “One Short Day”

Andy’s Jazz routine transported the ballroom to the streets of Oz. Judges loved his timing with the ensemble and the theatrical elements, though his scores (first 7s of the season) reflected room for growth. Fans were thrilled when America saved Andy from elimination yet again, and many commented on his humble surprise at how far he’s making it in the competition.

Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten – Contemporary to “Defying Gravity”

Elaine overcame physical challenges to deliver an emotional Contemporary. With a titanium joint in her foot, she pushed herself fully, leaving Carrie Ann Inaba in tears. Judges called it elegant, powerful, and inspiring. Fans praised her courage and artistry, marking it as one of the night’s most moving performances.

Jen Affleck & Jan Ravnik – Foxtrot to “As Long as You’re Mine”

Jen embraced her inner Elphaba, highlighting vulnerability and connection. Judges noted her commitment and growing technical skill, praising the flow of movement and emotional depth. It was her best performance yet, earning her recognition from both judges and fans alike.

Danielle Fishel & Pasha Pashkov – Argentine Tango to “No Good Deed”

Danielle channeled a dark and moody side for a passionate Tango. Judges called it her breakthrough moment, applauding her intensity, precision, and dramatic flair. Fans loved seeing Danielle step out of her comfort zone and shine on the dance floor.
