Chappell Roan, Wednesday, Beach Bunny, Water From Your Eyes, and more have all put out statements condemning Casey Wasserman of the Wasserman Agency.
In a surprising turn of events, Chappell Roan has parted ways with her talent agency, Wasserman, after it was revealed that founder Casey Wasserman was mentioned in the Epstein files. The singer posted an update on her Instagram Stories Monday (Feb. 9) night.
"As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman. I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values."
The hitmaker continued, "I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust."
As of now, the "HOT TO GO!" is the most high-profile figure to drop the agency, but acts like Wednesday, Beach Bunny, and Water From Your Eyes have all publicly condemned the agency and Wasserman himself.
Wasserman also serves on the 2028 Olympics board and local politicians have demanded he step down from his position there as well. City Controller Kenneth Mejia posted on X calling for his resignation.
"Los Angeles cannot trust our financial future to someone connected with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. LA 2028 Olympics Committee Chair Casey Wasserman must take accountability and resign."
Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn spoke to CNN about Wasserman.
"This is about the message we are sending to Epstein survivors and to the world about our values – especially as we work to combat any sex trafficking associated with the Games. I worry Casey Wasserman’s continued leadership almost guarantees that our Los Angeles Olympic Games will be tied in subsequent press coverage to his association with a notorious sex trafficker," she explained.
Wasserman's emails, from 2003, were among millions of pieces of evidence in the Epstein files released by the DOJ. In them, Wasserman corresponded with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend who is now serving 20 years for recruiting and trafficking teenage girls.
"I think of you all the time… So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?," Wasserman wrote in one exchange. In another email, the agency founder wrote to Maxwell "Where are you, I miss you," before asking to book a massage with her. Wasserman was married at the time.
In a statement released by Wasserman, he wrote "I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light."
He then clarified that he "never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein." While Wasserman has not been convicted of any wrongdoing, his association with these traffickers raises questions about his morals and intentions as well as suspicions about information that hasn't been publicly disclosed.
Wasserman's client list has since disappeared from their website since the news dropped.
