Siwa has been hard to avoid lately – with her self-decided creation of “gay pop” and her newest single, “Karma,” she has been everywhere. Considering her constant allocation to the back corner for most of her Dance Moms career, it would only seem fitting that she not only now be front and center but also offer a discussion on karma in her newest single.

Nia Sioux's decision to skip the Dance Moms reunion sent shockwaves through the fandom, prompting intense speculation and endless fan theories. In a candid TikTok video, Nia addressed the burning question of why she wasn't present, revealing that she didn't want a false narrative circulating about her.

In her own words, she stated: "Personally, I wasn't going to say anything 'cause I just didn't want to start drama — not that this would even start drama; it really shouldn't. And also, I didn't want to make it because I don't want it to seem like I'm searching for attention because I really don't care. I really don't need the attention."

Despite swirling rumors about sorority commitments or school obligations, Sioux made it crystal clear: she simply didn't want to participate. Her sincerity shone through as she reiterated her lack of desire for the spotlight, expressing gratitude for the show that kickstarted her journey to stardom.

"Hate to break it to you guys, but the reason is quite simple. I just really didn't want to do it," she told People Magazine. "Yeah, it's pretty plain and simple. I just didn't want to do it. Some people think it was because I had sorority stuff. Nope, I didn't. Some people think it's because I'm in school. I am in school, but it wouldn't have been an issue."

But Nia's absence isn't the only mystery surrounding the reunion special. As the premiere date loomed closer, fans couldn't help but wonder about the notable absences of Maddie Ziegler and Mackenzie Ziegler. Speculation ran rampant, with fan theories ranging from scheduling conflicts to secret projects in the works. Some even dared to suggest behind-the-scenes drama or personal conflicts, adding fuel to the already blazing fire of anticipation.

Former costars also had things to say about their absences, notably Siwa who stated that not appearing on the reunion was like stating, “Let me just erase my past, pretend it never happened, and shove it down the drain."

The reunion special, a two-hour event airing on Lifetime, promised to be an emotional rollercoaster as original cast members gathered to reflect on their tumultuous journey.

"I thought I wasn’t enough in every single way," former cast member Chloe Lukasiak said in the trailer released March 6. "I don’t think that anybody can explain how complicated all of our relationships are with her," Kalani Hilliker said at another point, seemingly referring to controversial instructor Abby Lee Miller.

The absence of Abby Lee Miller, the formidable instructor whose presence loomed large over the series, only added to the intrigue. "I think that we wouldn’t have been as open and vulnerable and honest if we had that kind of energy in the reunion."

With the reunion special finally airing, fans will be treated to a glimpse behind the curtain of their favorite reality show. From tearful revelations to moments of laughter and joy, it was a cathartic experience for both the cast and the viewers. And while Sioux may have been missing from the reunion, her presence was felt in spirit as fans rallied behind her, celebrating her authenticity and unwavering commitment to staying true to herself.
