One fan didn’t just talk trash, he hit a nerve.

During Saturday night’s (April 19)playoff game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers, a fearless jab from a fan turned personal fast, leading to a viral moment and a $50,000 fine for Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

It all went down during the third quarter, with Edwards seated at the scorer’s table. After referencing teammate Rudy Gobert’s massive contract (“He got 300 million!”), the fan responded with a sharp dig that’s been echoing across social media ever since, “Where yo kids at?”

Edwards fired back with an inappropriate gesture –  grabbing his crotch and responding, “My d–k bigger than yours,” before heading back onto the court.

The NBA weighed in today (April 22), fining the 23-year-old for “directing inappropriate language and making an obscene gesture toward a fan.”

The league’s swift action came as clips of the exchange flooded timelines and sparked a debate: Did the fan cross a line, or did Edwards take the bait? Either way, the taunt cut deep, especially considering Edwards’ off-court situation.

Edwards has been in the spotlight for his performance on the court and his paternity drama. As previously reported by Page Six, the NBA star filed a petition for paternity and child support against Ayesha Howard, who recently revealed she gave birth to his daughter, Aubri’ last October. She also claimed Edwards once urged her to terminate the pregnancy.

Earlier this month, Edwards agreed to give Howard full custody of the baby girl.

He’s also been dating Shannon Jackson since 2020, and the pair welcomed daughter Aislynn in March 2024. Additionally, Edwards is allegedly the father of two more children: daughter Aris, 1, with Daja Carlyle, and son Amir, 1, with Alexandria Desroches. Although, the athlete has never publicly acknowledged them.
