Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner may have walked side by side in New York City last weekend, but according to fans, there’s no romantic comeback brewing between the exes – just two parents making it work.

The former couple, who finalized their divorce in September 2023 after a whirlwind of messy headlines and a very public custody dispute, were spotted chatting casually on a sidewalk in Manhattan.

The moment was captured on TikTok (June 23) by a fan who, like many others, couldn’t believe her eyes.

While the sight of the Game of Thrones alum and the Jonas Brothers frontman out in public together sparked immediate buzz online, longtime fans of the couple are pumping the brakes on the idea of reconciliation.

"Guys, don't forget they're co-parents. Of course they have to see each other for the girls," one follower wrote. "Idk but something in my bones tell them they're gonna end up back together and be a family again and I'm not mad about it," said another. 

And that brutal divorce wasn’t just tabloid speculation, it was confirmed by months of legal back-and-forth, with Jonas filing in Miami and both parties entering mediation to resolve custody arrangements for their two young daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. Although details of their final settlement remain sealed, the process was anything but smooth.

Still, their recent public outing suggests the pair has come a long way. Gone are the tense courtroom appearances and cryptic statements. Now, it seems the two are co-parenting on solid ground.

Jonas himself recently acknowledged Turner’s strengths as a mother during a candid moment on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast tour.

“Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true,” the singer shared. “As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them. I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart.”

Turner, who has since begun dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, was just seen on a lunch date with him in London last Thursday – another sign that a romantic reunion with Jonas is highly unlikely.

In the world of celebrity breakups, it’s rare to see such a public split evolve into a functional co-parenting relationship so quickly. But for Jonas and Turner, fans believe their NYC stroll is less about rekindled romance and more about mutual respect and putting their daughters first.
