The highly-anticipated 13-track project is slated to drop on May 30, 2025. This album blends bold storytelling, sonic risks, and emotional depth, marking a whole new era for the superstar.
Miley Cyrus is officially stepping into a new chapter, and fans believe it will be Something Beautiful.
After months of cryptic teases, the global superstar finally spilled the details today (March 24), announcing that her highly anticipated ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, is set to drop on May 30 via Columbia Records.
It wasn't long until her devoded fandom flocked to the comments to express their excitment.
"I’m on my hands and knees screaming," wrote a follower. "She’s coming to save pop music," said a hopeful fan. "WE ARE NOT READY OR WORTHY," added another.
Since Cyrus never does anything halfway, she revealed the album cover in a truly spectacular way. Captured by renowned photographer Glen Luchford, the artwork showcases Cyrus draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture – a striking high-fashion statement that perfectly complements the album’s bold aesthetic.
If you’ve been following Cyrus’s hints over the past few months, you’ll know that Something Beautiful is not just another album, it’s an experience. In November, she teased the project in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, describing it as “a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
She elaborated, saying, “I would like to be a human psychedelic for people... I want to impact frequencies in your body that make you vibrate at a different level.”
So what does that actually mean? Expect something sonically mind-bending, deeply introspective, and unlike anything she’s done before. This isn’t just Endless Summer Vacation 2.0 – this is Cyrus pushing boundaries and experimenting with sound and storytelling in a way that only she can.
The 13-track album is executive produced by Cyrus herself, alongside Grammy-winning producer Shawn Everett. But one of the most intriguing collaborators on the project is her boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
“I’ve always worked with the people that I love,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
That personal connection could mean a deeply emotional and sonically rich album, blending pop accessibility with experimental elements that reflect their creative synergy. Cyrus also clarified that this album is about more than just catchy hooks – it’s about emotional and spiritual healing.
She told the outlet that each track was crafted with intention, explaining, “It was important for me that every song has these healing sound properties.”
She continued, “The songs, whether they’re about destruction or heartbreak or death, they’re presented in a way that is beautiful, because the nastiest times of our life do have a point of beauty. They are the shadow, they are the charcoal, they are the shading. You can’t have a painting without highlights and contrast.”
The hitmaker has been building excitement in unconventional ways – plastering Something Beautiful posters around the world and even sneakily referencing the album title while presenting Record of the Year at the 2025 Grammys. Now, with an official release date locked in, fans can finally mark their calendars for what’s sure to be one of the most compelling and daring projects of her career.
