Sabrina Carpenter is back to dominate your summer playlists, and her fans are absolutely losing it.

On Monday (June 2), the pop star and internet’s favorite flirt posted a silent, cheeky teaser video on Instagram that instantly sparked speculation about new music. 

In true Sabrina fashion, she made a scene while hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere, strutting in teeny denim shorts, baby blue heels, and her signature bounce-blown curls. After a car zooms by without stopping, she lets out a playful “Oh boy,” leaving fans thirsting for answers and clues.

And, oh, the clues followed.

Shortly after, cryptic roadside billboards began appearing in Texas with bold phrases like “Amen,” “Hey men!” and “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them,” all stamped with Carpenter’s initials. 

Naturally, fans went full detective. The word “Manchild” appeared on another sign, fueling rumors that a new single was on the way. Then came the confirmation that fans had been waiting for. The hitmaker turned to social media (June 3) to officially announce that “Manchild” drops this Thursday, June 5, at 8 p.m. EST.

“The queen of the summer is back!!!!” one fan wrote on Instagram. “Omg, she changed her profile picture!! This is gonna be so iconic!!” another eye-eyed fan gushed, noting that even Carpenter’s social media aesthetic is shifting – likely signaling a brand-new era.

This new track arrives just as the singer preps for the second leg of her Short n’ Sweet world tour, kicking off in October. While “Manchild” hasn’t officially been tied to a larger project, fans are already speculating whether it marks the start of her next album cycle.
