The rumors are hotter than a cup of espresso. According to X (formerly Twitter) user and frequent scoop leaker, MyTimetoShineHello, Sabrina Carpenter is supposedly in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an undisclosed role.

As of now there are several major Marvel projects in the works, such as Avengers: Doomsday, slated to hit theaters next year, but the most convincing rumor is that Sabrina is being eyed to play Dazzler in the upcoming X-Men reboot, also speculated by MyTimetoShineHello earlier this year.

Dazzler is a fan-favorite mutant in the Marvel Universe. Conceived in 1979, Dazzler was an attempted joint venture between Marvel Comics and Casablanca Records to capitalize on the disco craze of the time. The character herself uses her mutant abilities to help the X-Men and to enhance her stage performance as a pop star. After these initial plans fell through, and the character went through some changes, Marvel decided to give Dazzler her own ongoing comic, which turned out to be a best-seller for the publisher. The character has been a fan-favorite since then and has a strong fandom in the queer community. 

Although these are just rumors at the moment, Sabrina would be an exciting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She's acted before in Disney's Girl Meets World, and has clearly made a name for herself as a pop star. Even with a lot of anticipation over Marvel's upcoming X-Men movie, fan sentiment over projects post- Avengers: Endgame has been wavering. A star like Sabrina in an already anticipated movie would only help bring up the excitement more and even bring in new audiences.
