The love between Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco is "Rare." 

The Only Murders in the Building star recently caught up with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe to discuss her new single "Love On," which dropped on Thursday, February 22. During the conversation, Gomez spoke about her blossoming romance with her renowned music producer boyfriend, Benny Blanco. 

The singer-turned-entrepreneur emphasized that she's in a happy and healthy relationship. She stressed that Blanco had been nothing but understanding and supportive, something she struggled with in past relationships. 

"Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you," she told the outlet. "And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in." 

Gomez continued to explain that she feels "safe" alongside Blanco. This sentiment reflects a mature perspective on love and companionship.

"But I'd have to say, overall, it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it. So, it's awesome," she added.

The hitmaker has found herself in high-profile relationships. Gomez first experienced love in 2008 when she began dating Nick Jonas. Despite her complicated track record, she has finally found happiness in Blanco. Her positive mindset and lifestyle are evident in her new track "Love On," an up-tempo anthem that will get anyone in a spicy mood. The accompanying music video was shot in the city of love. Gomez credits her time in Paris, France, as a significant inspiration for her latest work.

"This idea is that I was inspired a lot by living in Paris, that for two months I had to work there, and I loved just the quality of life and how romantic it felt," said Gomez. "And then to kind of feel really happy in my life and actually mean it is so – it's just like you can tell in my video, I'm just smiling the whole time. It's such a good feeling." 

Gomez and Blanco made their relationship public in December 2023, expressing their affection openly on social media. Gomez has declared Blanco has her "absolute everything" and "the best thing that's ever happened" to her. 

Sources close to Gomez have noted the unique bond between the singer and Blanco, emphasizing that Gomez has "never been with anyone like" him before. "She loves how Benny treats her. He's so kind and thoughtful," a source told US Weekly. "It's been a very long time since friends saw Selena this happy. She's positively glowing."
