The cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has endured significant challenges — but will they be able to handle another season of the show? Announced earlier this week (March 10), the highly viewed series will be returning for season two, set to debut in May 2025.

This reality series debuted in September 2024 and quickly captured the audience's attention, featuring Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, and Layla Taylor. The initial eight-episode season spotlighted Mormon mom influencers embroiled in a swinging sex scandal and its consequences, including strained relationships with their partners.

In the trailer, Whitney disclosed her uncertainty about her relationships with the other women, mentioning, "They're holding grudges, and I don't even understand why," she said.

In other scenes, Taylor was captured in a heated argument with her intermittent boyfriend, Dakota, while Jen appeared to receive a bouquet of flowers, seemingly an apology from her husband, Zac. The footage also showed two men embroiled in a conflict that escalated to the point of police intervention. Amid the chaos, Mayci made a toast, declaring, "MomTok survives."

The teaser's most dramatic moment occurred when Miranda McWhorter, previously linked to Taylor’s soft-swinger circle, made a striking entrance at a group gathering, donning a cowboy hat, cutoff black shorts, and a white tank top. "Is that Miranda?" one of the wives exclaimed as the camera focused on her.

Well-known within the #MomTok community, Miranda was notably absent from the inaugural season in 2024. However, excitement buzzed with the release of the Season 2 teaser on March 10, which officially confirmed her upcoming appearance on the show. Miranda had previously decided against participating in the first season due to her estrangement from Taylor Frankie Paul.

As Season Two premieres on Hulu on May 15, let's learn more about Miranda McWhorter.

Personal Life and Marriage

Miranda previously tied the knot with Chase McWhorter. The pair connected right after Miranda finished high school, leading to their marriage in 2017. Chase had recently returned from an LDS mission when they announced their relationship publicly in 2016. By August 2024, they had parted ways. In a conversation with Us Weekly, Chase admitted that perhaps they hurried into marriage too quickly, though they continue to share a cordial relationship, primarily to co-parent their children effectively.

Miranda and Chase are parents to two children, Brooks and Cohen, who are central to her life and decisions.

The Swinging Scandal

The #MomTok sphere was shaken in 2022 when Taylor disclosed her and her husband's "soft swinging" arrangement, leading to rampant speculation about other couples' involvement –  including Miranda and Chase. Initially, the couple denied these rumors. Later, Chase provided some context, stating that their participation was limited to party games during social gatherings amid the lockdown, and criticized Taylor's representation of their actions.

The Decision to Join Season 2

Miranda revealed in an August 2024 interview on The Weekly Trash podcast that both she and Camille Mundy initially turned down offers to appear on the show due to discomfort with the process and potential exploitation. This decision was further complicated by ongoing tensions with Taylor, who accused them of negotiating conditional appearances on the show. Miranda countered these claims by releasing text messages that showed her concerns about joining the show.

As anticipation builds, viewers are eager to see how Miranda's story unfolds in the second season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premieres on Hulu on Thursday, May 15. This season promises deeper insights into the lives of those within the LDS community, spotlighting their complexities and challenges.
