Paige DeSorbo is willing to take a lie detector test to prove that Craig Conover talked to other women during their relationship.
Craig Conover, star of Southern Charm, has addressed recent allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, who claimed he was texting other women during their three-year relationship.
In a February 17 interview on The Tamron Hall Show, Conover firmly stated, "I never cheated."
Conover emphasized the importance of trust in relationships. The reality star and entrepreneur thought he had that with DeSorbo.
"And I think the best thing you can have in a relationship is security. Not worrying what your partner's doing. So, no I wasn't. But you can't control people," he said. He also mentioned that his co-star, Shep Rose, constantly points out his genuine loyalty.
"Shep [Rose], my co-star on Southern Charm, was like, 'That's the most frustrating thing about you,'" Conover recalled. "How loyal you are."
The controversy began during Summer House's ninth season premiere on February 1. In a scene filmed six months after their breakup, DeSorbo told friends Lindsay Hubbard and Lexi Wood, "I caught you texting two b-----s in our relationship."
Conover expressed disappointment over the show's direction, suggesting that DeSorbo's comments were a response to the backlash she received after their breakup. The two called it off in late December, right before the New Year.
"It was disappointing to see the direction her show went," he told award-winning host Tamron Hall. "I'm just grateful for the three years of a relationship that we had. It was really great. I'm a hundred times better version of myself now, no comma than I was. And I think she is too."
Conover continued, "I think it was a retaliatory scene. She got a lot of backlash from the breakup, which I was disappointed at."
Despite the public dispute, Conover holds no ill will toward DeSorbo. He acknowledged that she may have fallen out of love and wasn't the right person for him.
"At the end of the day, she fell out of love, and I wasn't the right person for her," he uttered with doubt. "And that is okay. If someone's not ready for you, you only live once, like go find your person."
Shortly after the interview, DeSorbo took to social media to address Conover's response to her allegations that he had been talking to other women during their relationship. Determined to prove her point, she even offered to take a lie detector test.
"Give me a lie detector test and make sure they ask me if I give a fck. I'm tryna show yall something," read a post shared to her Instagram story.
As for his personal life, Conover is taking a cautious approach. He mentioned trying a dating app but hasn't engaged with anyone yet – focusing instead on healing and self-improvement. During a recent appearance at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City (Feb.14), the 36-year-old talked about stepping back into the dating scene.
"I will say downloading Raya was my first step into admitting to myself that I was not in a relationship anymore," he said at a Galentine's Day event. "I don't think a dating app is for me. I think I'm gonna meet someone out in a bar or in life."
He expressed a desire to meet his future significant other in the wild. Ideally, he would like to wine and dine with them before considering marriage.
"It's just I want to meet you in person, to tonight would be great if I met someone, or in that kind of scene. I'm sure dating apps are great. Just for me, I feel like i know if I like someone pretty quickly, or if there's chemistry, and then you can have a drink at the bar and chat," he explained. "I was very fortunate to be in an awesome relationship for three years, and I'm a different person now than I was when I started that. So I've never been single as this person, and I'm just trying to take my time and see what that feels like."
As Bravoholics, we're torn on this one – who should we believe? Some fans think Craig is handling this breakup with maturity, and it's no surprise he's defending his character. But why would Paige put him on blast if it weren't true? Would she really make this up? On the flip side, is Craig just trying to protect his reputation? At this point, it feels like we'll never get the full, unfiltered story. There are always two sides… and somewhere in between lies the truth.
