Crystal Kung Minkoff announces departure from 'RHOBH' just weeks after Annemarie Wiley was "fired" from the franchise.
In a heartfelt announcement via Instagram, Crystal Kung Minkoff revealed her departure from the iconic reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after gracing screens for three consecutive seasons. The news, delivered on Monday (April 15), came as a bittersweet revelation to her fans.
"Hi, so I just wanted to share the news that I will not be coming back to film Season 14 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It's so bittersweet," she said in a selfie-style video. "Never did I think I would've been asked to do this show in a million years, let alone film it for three seasons. Every single year I was asked back, it was a blessing. It was an honor."
The beloved reality star acknowledged her unexpected journey and the honor of being the first Asian American cast in a full-time role on the show.
"[It] was a lot of weight on my shoulders, and I have since really understood the magnitude of what that means for people," Minkoff stressed about her historic role. And I just wanted to thank you guys for being such incredible support for me."
Throughout her tenure, Minkoff utilized her platform to vocalize her struggles, including her battles with an eating disorder and her father's Alzheimer's disease. Her openness resonated deeply with viewers – fostering a supportive community and inspiring countless individuals facing similar challenges.
"And I hope that I have been [support] for you, sharing my story with my ED, sharing stories about my father and his Alzheimer's," she uttered. "I've heard so many incredible stories from you guys."
Despite bidding farewell to the reality show, Minkoff assured her followers that this wasn't goodbye but rather a "see you soon," hinting at future endeavors that would allow her to continue connecting with her audience.
Meanwhile, the departure of Annemarie Wiley, another cast member from the previous season, adds to the speculation surrounding the lineup for Season 14. Rumors swirl about the possible return of Kathy Hilton and even the playful interest of Bette Midler in joining the drama, injecting anticipation into the air as Bravo deliberates its next move.
As fans reflect on Minkoff's impactful journey, memories of her fiery feud with Sutton Stracke and other defining moments from Season 13 come to mind. Yet, amidst the anticipation for what lies ahead, there's a sense of nostalgia for the authenticity that once defined the golden era of "Real Housewives." As the franchise navigates its future, viewers can't help but reminisce about the unforgettable personalities and moments that shaped its legacy.
"Idk if the end is near, but it seems the heyday is over. Now there is a clear formula mostly everyone takes when cast on the show. They come on ready with a small hastily cobbled together business to promote, or they're itching to drop a sound bite to turn into an iconic moment," wrote a devoted Bravoholic. "Does anybody else feel like we are nearing the end of the Real Housewives "era"? This is just my opinion, but I feel like the best seasons with the best casts have truly come and gone. Bravo keeps bringing back stars like Tamra, Sheree, Bethanny – and it feels like they've passed their moment," added another on Reddit.
