Kendrick Lamar has been confirmed as the headliner for the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. The highly anticipated game is scheduled for February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

This upcoming performance will be Lamar's second Super Bowl Halftime Show appearance, following his memorable stint during Dr. Dre's 2022 performance. That show was a star-studded affair featuring Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent, and is widely regarded as one of the most impactful halftime performances in history.

The announcement comes on the heels of Lamar's recent musical triumphs. Earlier this year, he faced off against Drake in a highly publicized musical rivalry, culminating in Lamar's hit single "Not Like Us," which has become one of the year's most talked-about tracks. This track not only underscored Lamar's lyrical prowess but also solidified his position as a leading voice in contemporary rap.

Lamar expressed his enthusiasm and confidence in his statement about the upcoming halftime show, saying, "Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one."

His words underscore his belief in the genre's continued relevance and his own role in its evolution. Roc Nation founder Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter also weighed in, praising Lamar as a "once-in-a-generation artist" with a profound impact on global culture.

Carter emphasized Lamar's ability to shape and influence the music industry, saying, "His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick's work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come."

The creative direction for Lamar's performance will be managed by his company, pgLang, which was also responsible for his acclaimed "Big Steppers" tour that ran from 2022 to early 202.

Lamar's video announcement for the Super Bowl show included a sly reference to his recent feud with Drake, with the rapper noting, "no round twos." This comment has sparked a flurry of speculation among fans and critics alike, with many interpreting it as a direct jab at Drake

The rivalry, which intensified through diss tracks and public comments earlier this year, has been a major topic of discussion in the music industry. Social media reactions to the announcement have been mixed. While some fans are eagerly anticipating Lamar's performance and the potential for an unforgettable halftime show, others have expressed frustration, arguing that Drake deserved the spotlight.

The debate continues as fans speculate about how Lamar might incorporate elements of his recent hit into his performance and whether the Super Bowl stage will see any unexpected moments related to his ongoing rivalry with Drake.
