Fans are hailing Flav as the ultimate superfan for proposing an inclusive Las Vegas parade that finally gives Paralympians and female athletes the spotlight they deserve.
Rapper and longtime women’s sports champion Flavor Flav has promised a larger-than-life celebration for the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team following their gold-medal victory at the 2026 Winter Olympics and he’s expanding the invite to every U.S. female Olympian and Paralympian who medaled.
"I want to go bigger and better," the hitmaker said in an Instagram video posted Feb. 25, announcing plans for a party and a parade in Las Vegas. "I want to bring all United States female Olympians and Paralympians, the ones that won medals."
In an interview with USA Today, Flav said, "I’m going to give them a parade, they’re definitely going to have a parade. And then also, I’m going to see what type of entertainment that I can put together."
The move follows headlines earlier in the week when President Donald Trump told the men’s team during a congratulatory call after their gold-medal game on Feb. 22 that "we’re going to have to bring the women’s team," a remark that was widely interpreted as an awkward invitation after the U.S. women’s team declined a State of the Union invitation.
"I'd probably would be impeached [if the women's team wasn't invited]," he added.

Flav called the president’s outreach "some type of mediocre invitation" and framed his own event as a "real celebration," one meant to honor athletes who "bust their butt and do a good job to make [the] United States look good."
Fans and athletes quickly embraced Flav’s pledge. Social media lit up with praise for his inclusive approach, particularly his explicit invitation to Paralympians.
"Inviting the Paralympians is the basic everyone should do. But often they are forgotten. Stellar to see someone with funds and visibility actually show up and extend like a normal person should!" one follower wrote on Instagram. Others pointed to Flav’s track record – from hosting a Las Vegas party for the U.S. women’s water polo team after the 2024 Summer Olympics to publicly supporting athletes financiall, as evidence that the celebration is in keeping with his long-standing support for women’s sports.
Flav, 66, said he wants men to attend the event too, so they can "help support their fellow women athletes." He described the party as a platform to boost visibility for women’s and adaptive sports.
Organizing logistics, from parade permits to travel for medalists, remain to be worked out, and Flav did not provide a timeline. Still, supporters said the gesture sends a clear message that athletes who triumph on the world stage deserve public recognition, celebration and inclusivity.
