The ongoing discord between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has intensified, focusing on their 11-year-old daughter, North West, and her involvement in a song featuring Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently facing serious legal charges. This situation has heightened concerns about parental consent, child welfare, and the influence of controversial figures in their children's lives.

North West’s Musical Involvement

North West has been gradually stepping into the music industry, collaborating with her father on various projects. In February 2024, she contributed a guest verse to "Talking / Once Again," a track by ¥$, a supergroup comprising Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign. This collaboration marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 30. Following this, Kanye announced North’s debut album, Elementary School Dropout, in March 2024, a title echoing his own 2004 album, The College Dropout.

In January 2025, North West also collaborated with artist FKA twigs on the track "Childlike Things" from FKA twigs' album Eusexua. At just 11 years old, North showcased her rapping skills by delivering lyrics in Japanese. Fans of West and the Kardashians were divided, saying she shouldn't be featured on an album with that kind of content at her age.

The Controversial Collaboration

The controversy erupted when Kanye released a new song titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine," featuring vocals from North West and Sean "Diddy" Combs, along with phone conversations between West and Combs. Diddy is currently awaiting trial on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Page Six shared that Kim Kardashian reportedly opposed North’s involvement in the track due to Diddy’s legal situation and attempted to prevent its release by sending cease and desist letters to Kanye.

An emergency mediation session was held, during which Kanye allegedly agreed not to release the song. However, he proceeded to share it on social media, defying Kim’s wishes and the alleged agreement.

Recently Leaked Phone Call Between West and Diddy

Diddy, currently behind bars at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, was also heard offering unwavering support to West in a leaked phone call, urging him to return to the stage despite the controversy surrounding the release of their song with North.

The Shade Room obtained the audio, in which Diddy encourages West to "tear down the stadiums" and embrace his artistry once more. In the call, audio provided from TMZ, Diddy acknowledges the gravity of his own legal troubles, but shifts the focus back to West's career.

"This s*** is wicked," he tells West, warning him to "be careful." Yet, his main message is clear: get back to music. "Get behind the mic, have some fun, chop up them samples, get back on your hitman vibe," he says, pushing West to reclaim his creative spark.

The Bad Boy mogul even swipes Kardashian and others who were once close to West. "F*** these other motherf***ers. They are wasting your time," he says, advising West to focus on himself and his passion for music. The call has sparked mixed reactions online, with some seeing it as a genuine moment of camaraderie and others questioning the source of the encouragement, given Diddy’s current situation.

Public and Media Reactions

The public and media response to the song’s release has been largely critical. Jimmy Kimmel,  condemned West's decision to involve North in a project with Diddy, referring to Diddy as "Uncle Baby Oil" due to the serious allegations against him. Kimmel also criticized West's recent actions, including the controversial imagery associated with his new album.

Additionally, West's public support for Diddy has drawn backlash from other artists. Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend who previously accused him of sexual abuse and secured a settlement in 2023, indirectly responded to West's defense of Diddy by resharing a post from Playboi Carti suggesting West should "shut the f-k up."

Kim Kardashian’s Protective Measures

In response to these events, Kardashian has reportedly implemented "extreme measures" to protect her children. She is particularly concerned about North’s involvement in the song and West's recent erratic behavior, including his alarming affiliations and public statements. Kardashian has ensured that her children are accompanied by experienced security teams and nannies during visits with their father. She is also considering legal avenues to prevent their involvement in West's public activities and is contemplating seeking full custody if the situation escalates.

According to reports, she abruptly ended North's visit with West after learning that Andrew and Tristan Tate – who face serious criminal charges – were on their way. Kardashian, like others distancing from the problematic Tate brothers, made it clear she doesn't want them around her children.

Kanye West Drops Surprise Album Bully With Short Film Starring Son Saint West

West surprised fans with the release of his new album, Bully,  on March 19, accompanied by a 45-minute short film starring his 9-year-old son, Saint West. In the video, shared on X, Saint battles masked wrestlers with a toy mallet, ultimately emerging victorious. Kanye later posted what seems to be the album's cover art, featuring Saint showing off black and silver grills. Adding to the unconventional rollout, he initially dropped three versions of Bully, though two have since been deleted.

Kanye West Slams Beyoncé And Jay Z's Kids In X Rant

The situation has further deteriorated with West's recent social media tirades. He launched expletive-filled attacks on fellow artists Jay-Z and Beyoncé, bizarrely involving his own children in the rants. These actions have reportedly been the "final straw" for Kardashian, who is now "done trying to be reasonable" and prefers to communicate with Kanye only through mediators.

The bizarre, all-caps rant on X (formerly Twitter), attacking Beyoncé and Jay-Z's 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, questioning their mental capacity. He quickly deleted the post, only to re-share it early today (March 19), explaining he took it down not because he felt guilty but because he feared his X account might get canceled. In his follow-up, he took another jab at the kids' intelligence, but oddly, left their older sister, Blue Ivy out of the insults.

Tina Knowles is standing strong and defending her family. While on set for a photoshoot, she took to Instagram to share a lighthearted joke before addressing the negativity surrounding her loved ones. Acknowledging the challenges of staying positive, she made it clear that no weapon formed against her family will prosper, placing her faith in a higher power to handle the situation.

As the situation unfolds, the primary concern remains the well-being and protection of their children, particularly in the face of public scrutiny and the involvement of individuals facing serious legal allegations.
