Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence in Burbank, CA. 

According to law enforcement, police were called to a residence Tuesday night (Dec. 11) after receiving reports of a heated argument between Kennedy and a woman. 

A witness told TMZ that the reality star allegedly grabbed the woman, though no visible injuries were reported when officers arrived on the scene. Just hours before the arrest, Kennedy and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, were spotted attending a Christmas party at Kathy Hilton's home. 

It has not been confirmed whether Lewber is the woman involved in the incident, leaving fans questioning the details of the situation. The DJ was later released on $20,000 bail.

The story is developing, and the Burbank City Attorney's office is investigating the case. Kennedy may be charged if additional evidence arises. 

This shocking turn of events has left fans stunned, especially given Kennedy's public journey toward sobriety and personal growth. 

The 31-year-old has been open about his past struggles with substance abuse and his efforts to improve his life, even revealing in Vanderpump Rules season 11 that he is now sober. However, Kennedy's relationship with Lewber has not been without controversy, with the couple previously addressing rumors about past physical altercations.

In an interview, earlier this year (Feb. 9), Lewber, 28, acknowledged Kennedy's past issues with anger on the Scheananigans podcast.

"He's working on himself. I know in the past that he has anger issues. So I get it," explained Lewber to Scheana Shay. "But I just want people to know that I'm good, and I'm safe, and I love him," she added. 

Lewber also explained how their drinking habits contributed to their relationship issues, "We would fight when we would drink. I would drink and pick [fights]. When you drink that much and in those environments, it is not great. That's not who we really are. That's an example of why he shouldn't drink." 

Kennedy and Lewber began dating in January 2022, shortly after his breakup with former fiancée Rachel Leviss.
