Kayla Nicole, sports broadcaster and former girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, knows this all too well. Since her split with Kelce, she has been bombarded with hate from Swifties – fans of Taylor Swift, who is now dating the NFL star.

The Swifties wasted no time targeting Nicole, filling her social media with unsolicited negativity. And Nicole has finally had enough.

“The Hate is Real”: Kayla Speaks Out

During a candid interview on Unapologetically Angel, hosted by rookie basketball sensation Angel Reese, Nicole opened up about the toxic comments that have followed her since her breakup. One of the hardest parts, she shared, is dealing with Swifties who stalk her Instagram and leave hurtful remarks. 

“You could go to my most recent post and it will be people debating each other [about] why I am worthless and I’ll never be a talented person and I have no career,” Nicole revealed. “I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and online chaos doesn’t impact me.”

Nicole acknowledged that while she hasn’t done anything to provoke such negativity, the hate is fueled by the toxic side of Swift and Kelce’s high-profile relationship. “It has nothing to do with me,” she said. “There’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people. And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”

Despite the negativity, Kayla has remained poised and unbothered—at least publicly. “I’m unproblematic—mind my business,” she wrote in a tweet back in April 2024. “Never respond to the constant vitriol. Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either. Just know everyone has a breaking point.”

Clearing Up Rumors and Moving On

Nicole and Kelce dated on-and-off from 2017 until their official split in 2022. Since then, rumors about their breakup have circulated, including a claim that Kelce was "cheap" during their relationship. Nicole set the record straight: “I don’t even know why that became a thing. That was never an issue in our relationship, but it was definitely a rumor on the internet." 

Nicole made it clear that there’s no bad blood between her and Kelce, even adding that if they crossed paths, she’d give him nothing more than a “head nod.”

Amid the chaos, Nicole is staying booked and busy. From co-hosting vividpicks segments like "Game Fits" to showing up stunning at red-carpet events like Netflix’s Starting 5, she’s carving out her own lane in the world of sports and entertainment. Her work with Vivid Picks, which covers fantasy sports leagues like the NFL and NBA, keeps her closely tied to football, whether or not her ex is involved. Nicole even mentioned that it’s hard to do her job without mentioning the best tight end in the NFL.

The harassment Nicole has faced hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans. Some have taken to social media to defend her. One Twitter user noted, “There’s a whole Reddit page dedicated to dragging Kayla." 

Another fan expressed outrage over the online bullying, tweeting, “The fact that Kayla still gets bullied for being Travis’ ex is ridiculous.”

Still, the online tension between Nicole's  fans and Swifties continues to escalate. Accusations of body-shaming have surfaced, with Swifties claiming Nicole made comments about Swift's appearance.
