Three years after The Kardashians debuted on Hulu, Khloé Kardashian is branching out with a brand-new series. This time, putting herself at the forefront. During Hulu’s first-ever Get Real House event on April 22, Kardashian announced she’s developing a fresh unscripted project with the platform.

“It’s very exciting, very new, very excellent,”  Kardashian said on stage at the panel, flashing that signature grin we’ve seen since Keeping Up With the Kardashians first aired in 2007. “We’re excited to continue developing.”

The concept? A deep dive into the extended Kardashian universe. The new series, currently titled Calabasas Behind the Gates, will shift the lens away from the core Kardashian-Jenner clan and focus instead on the friends, neighbors, and hidden characters who make up their real lives inside the gates of their exclusive Calabasas community.

“We all want to know what’s happening behind the gates of Calabasas – who are all these people in the extended lives of the Kardashians?” Disney’s EVP of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, Rob Mills, explained during the panel. “So we’re developing a show that digs into those stories, and at least for now, we’re calling it Calabasas Behind the Gates.”

For longtime fans, the idea is a dream. It promises a peek into the social circle that surrounds the world’s most famous family – a mix of entrepreneurs, influencers, stylists, personal trainers, and childhood friends who’ve stayed close through it all.

While Hulu and  Kardashian stayed quiet about who exactly will appear on the show, the fact that Scott Disick was present only added to the intrigue.

Will we see familiar faces like Malika Haqq or Jonathan Cheban pop up? Could it feature the next generation of Kardashian BFFs and business moguls? The possibilities are endless, and fans are already dissecting the clues.

Still, some viewers are wondering why this new idea isn’t just part of The Kardashians. With the reality star already filming for the flagship Hulu series, managing her Good American brand, launching a protein popcorn line, working on a new perfume, and hosting her own podcast, some fans are starting to ask: is she taking on too much?

Whether or not it makes sense from a production standpoint, we’re still going to watch. Because if there’s one thing Khloé Kardashian knows how to do, it’s keep us curious.

Calabasas Behind the Gates might be the juiciest spin-off we never knew we needed.
