Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent, 33, is expecting her second child. The exciting news arrives just a little over a month after Kent openly shared her decision to pursue intrauterine insemination (IUI) using a sperm donor.

The reality star turned to Instagram on Sunday, March 3, to update Bravoholics. The photo featured her daughter Ocean and Kent's growing baby bump.

"I'm expanding my pod," wrote Kent in the caption. "A @maryruthorganics cheers to a new addition to my little family," she added. 

Kent had Ocean with film producer Randall Emmett. The two crossed paths back in 2015 while she was working at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant, SUR. She touched on their romance in Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules, but kept their budding relationship hush-hush. The two got engaged in 2018, shortly after he divorced actress Ambyr Childers. They welcomed Ocean in 2020, but called off their wedding in October 2021. Kent accused Emmett of cheating on Watch What Happens Live just seven months after the birth of their first child. 

Although Kent has yet to find her forever person, she has confirmed that she's not waiting around to start a family. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she opened up about being a single parent and the unexpected path towards expanding her family.

"It's a road that I never thought I would be going down," she told the magazine in late January. "I really saw myself in the cookie-cutter relationship and creating a family, but now that the universe has other plans for me, I'm so grateful this was an option." 

Kent continued to touch upon the process of finding a sperm donor, revealing that it was easier than she would have expected. 

"The moment I found a donor, it just spoke to me," she explained. "He felt like my baby daddy. So that's where we're at. The moment I can go forward with the IUI, then we'll be there."

Deciding on a sperm donor does not come as a surprise, as she expressed her interest back in 2022. Kent's openness about her fertility journey and choice to pursue IUI as a single woman is part of a broader conversation she hopes to inspire. She aims to support other women who may be waiting for a partner to start their families by highlighting alternative paths to parenthood.

"I felt this need to start talking about it because there are women out in the world who sit there and wait for a man to come into the picture and are just yearning for children even though there is another way to get pregnant," she stressed. "If you want children and are only waiting for 'that person' to come into your life, let's talk about a different route that we can take." 

Fan Of View: Kent being so open and straight-up about everything — from picking a sperm donor to the whole IUI journey — she's basically challenging what people think about single parenting and the whole array of options out there for becoming a parent. Her being so upfront about her experience is like a breath of fresh air, breaking down taboos and showing solid support to anyone else walking a similar path.
