Meet The Country Artists Featured On Beyonce's New Album, 'Cowboy Carter'

Beyoncé recently dropped (March 29) her highly anticipated album, COWBOY CARTER. While the album quickly climbed the charts and made headlines, Queen Bey used her platform to spotlight those established and emerging. 

Joining Beyonce's remarkable rendition of The Beatles' song "BLACKBIIRD" are emerging female country acts Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, and Tiera Kennedy. Blazing a bath throughout the country music realm, Shaboozey is featured on "SWEET HONEY BUCKIN'" and "SPAGHETTI" alongside the first black woman to play the Grand Ole Opry, Linda Martell. A name familiar to the country music realm, Willie Jones joins the legend herself on "JUST FOR FUN."

According to an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter, artists involved throughout the project have seen an increase in first-time listeners on Spotify. The new album broke records on Spotify by becoming the most streamed album in a single day in 2024. Twenty-three songs from the project also debuted on Spotify's U.S. Top 50 Chat.

Tierra Kennedy

The Alabama native Tiera Kennedy has spent the last few years paving her path throughout Music City. Host of Apple Music’s The Tiera Show, the singer-songwriter has released pop-country infectious singles like “Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist,” her first single to impact country radio. 

As new visuals from the emerging artist have been shared on social media, she’s preparing for new music. Kennedy will release her new single, “I Ain’t A Cowgirl,” on April 26th. 

Tiera said in a heartfelt Instagram post, “I couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you Beyoncé, for shining your light. This album is so important. It will not only change the future of country music but music as a whole, and I cannot wait to watch it unfold. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Shaboozey

Let's introduce you to one of country music's hottest new acts, Shaboozey. The emerging artist announced the release of his highly anticipated new album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going, which will be available everywhere on May 31. 

The talented newcomer recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's remarkable Late Show Me Music series. Shaboozey will join multi-genre artist Jessie Murph for specific dates on her upcoming "In The Sticks" tour ahead of the album release.

Shaboozey took to Instagram after the release of Beyonce's album to share his gratitude for the collaboration. "Thank you for always being the one to step up and kick in a door when others are afraid to. Texas born & raised, worked hard for yours. You are country. Put her in the Grand Ol' Opry NOW! Love you!" captions Shaboozey.

Brittney Spencer

As she prepares for a performance with Parker McCollum at the CMT Awards this weekend, Brittney Spencer adds another special milestone to her career. 

Most recently, the country songstress released her new album “My Stupid Life,” which features singles like “Night In” and “I Got Time.”

On Instagram, Spencer took the opportunity to share the history-making announcement: “I’ve typed and deleted at least 10 captions. I don’t have anything clever or curated to say. I’m on a Beyonce record. The album is a masterpiece. ily @beyonce.” 

Reyna Roberts

As country as the country comes – Reyna Roberts gives listeners a taste of twang with the music she has and continues to release. In September, Roberts released her debut album Bad Girl Bible, Vol. 1, featuring fan-favorite tracks, including “Lousiana” and “Miranda,” an ode to Miranda Lambert herself. 

The singer-songwriter shared her excitement about being invited to the track with a special Instagram post.

Willie Jones

In 2012, cross-genre country artist Willie Jones started on The X Factor with judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, LA Reid, and Demi Lovato

The singer-songwriter made it through the live rounds before ultimately getting eliminated from the show. Fast-forward to 2024, and the emerging singer-songwriter is releasing music independently since parting ways with his former label, Sony Music Nashville. In 2023, the country and R&B-infused artist released his first studio album, Something To Dance To.

Tanner Adell

On a path to success, the emerging country artist Tanner Adell continues to make waves throughout the genre with each release. In June 2023, Adell released her highly accepted debut album Buckle Bunny, mixing R&B and country music throughout the project. 

When the singer-songwriter heard about the upcoming album from Beyoncé, she posted a video on TikTok sharing how excited she was for the project. 

"If you know me at all, you know Beyoncé is my number one favorite entertainer and one of the entertainers I look up to most. She's an incredible vocalist, dancer, writer, woman, and mother, and I cannot wait for this album," she posted in the caption.
