Meghan Markle’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has generated a wide range of reactions from fans and critics alike. While some fans have embraced the series, others have raised concerns over its content and perceived inauthenticity.

Many fans have found the show to be a light, calming experience. Some viewers have described it as a soothing escape, with one person mentioning they needed the relaxing tone amidst current global events. Others have praised Markle’s glowing appearance and easy-going vibe, commenting on how warm and welcoming she seemed on-screen.

At a special screening in New York City, Markle even surprised long-time fans of her former blog, The Tig, with invites, and they showed out displaying tattoos they had gotten for Markle and bringing friendship bracelets as tokens of admiration. This interaction highlighted the ongoing support she receives from many followers despite many people's mixed opinions of her.

On the flip side, several viewers and critics have expressed disappointment. Some fans felt the show showcased an unrealistic lifestyle, with one person admitting it made them feel inferior and like a bad parent. Critics have similarly taken issue with the show’s portrayal of excess. Judi James, a body language expert, described the series as a “dystopian nightmare,” critiquing its inauthenticity and outdated depictions of feminine stereotypes. The content has also been labeled as too extravagant and disconnected from the realities of most viewers.

But the mother-of-two has faced criticism for being "inauthentic" on the show and allegedly "copying" recipes. It is also packed with peculiar romantic themes and even a subtle jab at the royal family.

"Meghan’s show should be renamed ‘LOVE ME – MEGHAN,’ as the overarching visual theme seems fixated on portraying the Duchess of Sussex as irresistibly charming and sweet," she remarked.

Calling the show outdated in its portrayal of modern women, James argued that Markle spending time in the kitchen, while Prince Harry attends events, feels like a step backward.

“Meghan’s so-called reality show is more of a dystopian vision for feminists — like a world where women never won the right to vote and instead exist in a Jane Austen-esque bubble of delicate fabrics, flower arrangements, and securing wealthy husbands for survival," she added.

Others have pointed out moments where Markle’s attempts at approachable, relatable content fell flat, such as a cooking segment that received mocking comments for a seemingly basic dish.

On social media, discussions have been divided. While some viewers have applauded Markle’s hosting skills and the aesthetic of the show, others have criticized its lack of relatability and the tone of elitism that it sometimes conveys. The overwhelming critique remains that it offers an unattainable lifestyle that feels disconnected from the audience it seeks to engage.
