In a September 3 appearance on Today, Goodell praised Swift as a "special, special talent" and stated she would be "welcome at any time" to perform. 

When asked if plans were in motion, he responded with a coy "maybe," adding that the final decision rests with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, who oversee the halftime show lineup.

Speculation intensified following Swift's appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her fiancé Travis Kelce. During the episode, Swift made several remarks that fans interpreted as subtle hints about a potential Super Bowl performance. She mentioned thinking about sourdough "60% of the time," which fans believe references the 60th Super Bowl and the 49ers' mascot, Sourdough Sam.
