Travis Kelce clears up false claims about his community efforts, reaffirming his commitment to empowering disadvantaged youth through his foundation, 87 Running.
Travis Kelce is taking a stand to clear up some misinformation swirling around his community service efforts.
In the April 9 episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star addressed false rumors about his charity work. One claim suggested he bought a $3.3 million house to create a facility for homeless youth, which he denied.
The rumors first spread when Foster Love, a nonprofit organization, posted about the story last month. However, that post has since been deleted. Kelce didn't dive into the specifics of the claims, but he clarified that they were untrue.
"Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not. I'm not even going to talk about it specifically," Kelce said on the podcast. "I don't want to bring anymore attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff," he added.
Instead, Kelce redirected the conversation to his real community efforts. "If you ever want to know exactly what I'm doing in the community, just go to 87running.org," he stressed.
87 Running is his foundation that aims to empower disadvantaged youth by providing resources and support in areas like education, business, athletics, STEM, and the arts.
Kelce, who launched 87 Running in 2015, has been consistently involved in his local communities, especially in Kansas City and Cleveland. He made it clear that while he's passionate about making a difference, he wasn't behind the rumored plans for the $3.3 million facility.
"We're always trying to get out there and get in the Kansas City communities and the Cleveland community, but this time, I wasn't doing what was falsely claimed by the social channels or the outlets posting all this AI stuff," he admitted.
After he placed the rumors to rest, he thanked his fans and individuals in the industry for their overwhelming support and love.
"Just wanted to set the record straight. Appreciate everybody for always trying to show love," he said. He also gave a shout-out to sports analyst Pat McAfee, who had backed Kelce's character in the media. On his own talk show, The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee praised Kelce as a "good person" and mentioned the rumored $3.3 million donation to the homeless facility.
Despite the misinformation, Kelce remains focused on his true mission: uplifting youth and communities in need. Head to 87running.org for more information on his life-changing work.
