This year’s CMA Awards (Nov. 20) red carpet was brimming with striking looks, surprise announcements, and memorable moments.
Before the highly anticipated show, the biggest names in country music, such as Megan Moroney, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Noah Kahan and Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson ,Miranda Lambert , Katherine McPhee, and so many more eloquently graced the carpet and we rounded up our favorites of the night.
Kacey Musgraves
The Deeper Well songstress blessed the CMA’s carpet wearing a dazzling periwinkle gown, assembled with feathered sleeves and tear-drop crystallized adornments. Up for three categories, Musgraves never disappoints with her red carpet-look.
Simone Biles
Seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles returned to Nashville for this year’s award season as a presenter, and told ABC during the pre-show stream that she tries to “rest these days” after the 2024 Paris Olympics, but that “it’s always fun to get opportunities to come and do stuff like this because it’s fun walking the carpet and meeting new people.”
She sported a beautiful, floor-length sparkly gown and later changed into an even sparklier gray suit when introducing the Female Vocalist of the Year category.
Lainey Wilson and Delvin “Duck” Hodges
Entertainer of the Year and host Lainey Wilson dressed in an all-black, bedazzled suit to match her beau Delvin “Duck” Hodges. The “Hang Tight Honey” songstress was up for Single of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
Teddy Swims
These two seem like such a blast. This unexpected friendship of 2024 is everything we need. First-time CMA attendee Teddy supported a striped gold-and-black poncho, coupled with a fringed cowboy hat, and proudly exclaimed, “You know, I wanted to be like a cowgirl but also maybe a super express car wash.”
Go off!
Shaboozey
Up for New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, the “A Bar Dong (Tipsy)” artist stepped out onto the carpet in a fashionably unique light-green suit decorated with black-stitched rose decor.
The Red Clay Strays
How fun are these guys? The six-member Alabama-native band took to the carpet parading musical-themed, full-piece suits in full spirits.
The “Wondering Why” band was up for their first ever CMA award tonight in the Vocal Group of the Year category, which is huge considering their debut record, Moment of Truth, emerged in 2022, and their sophomore assemblage, Made by These Moments, dropped just a few months ago. Win or lose, the unconventional southern band were the most fun on the carpet.
Ella Langley
Ella Langley took to the carpet dressed in a full-body, black gown with intricate lace that fell all the way to the floor. It was also exclusively announced that her song with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” secured the Musical Event of the Year win.
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes
Perhaps the cutest couple of the night, Kelsea Ballerini walked the carpet with her Outer Banks star Chase Stokes on her arm. Their infectious PDA was not limited to the two, and their admiration for one another is just contagious! The "Patterns” singer flourished in her loose-fitting, sequin-soaked grey dress while simply wearing her hair down.
Molly Tuttle
Folk songwriter Molly Tuttle wore a simple, gleaming gown with a quilted matte. Perhaps the most dazzling look of the night. She joined Dierks Bentley and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes to perform a rendition of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” to close out the show.
Moriah Smallbone
Actress and Latin country music artist Moriah Smallbone showed up to the CMAs sporting a super fun, long-pointed hat paying homage to her culture.
