Garth Brooks praises Travis Kelce for his liquid courage-fueled performance of "Friends in Low Places."
Garth Brooks is gearing up to officially open the doors to his Nashville bar, Friends in Low Places. The highly anticipated venue will become available to tourists and fans on March 7.
During the latest episode of Inside Studio G, the hitmaker revealed that he wants NFL tight-end Travis Kelce at the grand opening. The exclusive invitation comes on the heels of Kelce's liquid courage-fueled performance of "Friends in Low Places" at the Chiefs' post-Super Bowl victory parade. Kelce's rendition caught Brooks' attention and admiration.
"I loved it. I thought it was fantastic," said Brooks with a smile. "It blew me away because I'm sitting there watching as it's going down, right? I never expected that."

Brooks extended a personal invite to Kelce, offering to host him and facilitate his journey with a private plane capable of carrying Kelce and ten other friends to Nashville for the event. This grand gesture underlines Brooks' desire to see Kelce perform "Friends in Low Places," a song associated with Brooks' career and the inspiration behind the bar's name.
"You can come by yourself or bring your brother or your gang, whatever you want to do," explained Brooks. "The plane holds 11, just remember that. So yes, I'll be happy to send this invite out to you if you want to try a little 'Friends in Low Places' in Friends in Low Places."
He promised fans that if Kelce RSVPs to the invitation, he will also appear at the grand opening. The 55,00-square-foot bar is located in downtown Nashville, and each floor can hold approximately 250 people.
A captivating theory has emerged, intertwining country music, the NFL, and pop superstardom. While on the surface, this invitation appears as a simple gesture and and a playful challenge, some fans are beginning to suspect a deeper, more strategic motive behind Brooks' move.
Brooks is not just aiming to bring an NFL star under his bar's neon lights. Instead, he's casting a wider net, aiming for a celebrity whose presence could turn any venue into the city's hotspot: Taylor Swift. Known for her massive, dedicated fanbase and her roots in country music before transitioning to pop, Swift's appearance at any event guarantees attention from her fans and media outlets worldwide.
Brooks believes inviting Kelce – Swift's boyfriend –could serve as a lure to bring fans in. Swift's appearance would elevate the bar's status on its opening night and turn Broadway into a pilgrimage site for Swifties eager to catch a glimpse of their idol. The resulting publicity and increased foot traffic would be a success not just for Brooks' establishment but for the Broadway area as a whole, potentially sparking a surge in sales and visibility for local businesses.
